it’s weird being a zoroark who is totally canon compliant except for one (debatably) minor detail. pokémon weren’t sapient on the same level as humans from what i remember. this kintype is much more like a theriotype than anything else to me. i was just an animal, about as intelligent and self-aware as a particularly driven border collie. i didn’t pass the mirror test without significant prompting to see that it’s just glass, not another zoroark. i chewed on pokeballs and my trainer had to teach me a “Drop It” and “Trade” command so i wouldn’t chew on my own ball. i was territorial and prone to aggressive displays at both humans and pokémon, and my trainer had to win my trust exactly the way you’d tame a feral dog. i was an animal. pokémon were animals. such a minor difference that means i can’t really relate to other pokémon in this life.

This started as a way to try and express how in the pokemon world (especially unova and shinoh) neurodivergent people would have complicated feelings and relationship about the zoroark line and some probably internalize and /or rebel in that image but then at the end of it I was like.
Man the alterhuman community in the pokemon world is probably so crazy /pos
it's funny being a zoroark cause i get kin feelings for other pokemon and i have to stop and think "okay am i actually this pokemon or do i just want to disguise myself as this pokemon?"
