i love these two and i kind of didn't like the 4th movie (not just cus wyatt wasn't there 😓)- anyways, after that tho, i'm glad to see a (bit) more of Vargas rep in the fandom as well as vargas x ray (cus i'm glad i'm not going crazyyyy- more chemistry than nova and victor in the enemies to lovers aspect likeeeee)

Zyatt (Zed x Wyatt) Fic Idea: Follow the Soul Mate Trail

Fandom: the Disney Zombies movies. (Especially Zombies 2) Based on: the scene in the song Like the Zombies Do where Wyatt sniffs the hat Zed hands him. (Because why did he do that??)

AU where werewolves can tell their destined mates based on scent!

(Bonus: Eliza theorizes that it's something to do with hormone and chemistry compatibility but the werewolves say they're Chosen by the Moonstone.)

Wyatt smells his destined mate on the hat and after the song asks Zed where he got it. But those are the hats that are kept in the storage near the gym locker rooms so the hats could have been touched by a whole number of kids that have been through the gym.

...It does not yet occur to Wyatt that it's the simple fact that Zed was the one who handed it to him and his scent got on it just from him carrying them around to hand out as free samples to increase school spirit.

Wyatt then sneaks in later that night and searches through the locker rooms to sniff out to see which locker could belong to his destined mate. He finds it but the locker just has "Z" on it as a label. (Because Zed's uniform has a Z on it instead of a number heehee.) So he only concludes his mate is most likely a zombie.

Some more snooping and sniffing around shenanigans occur (aka a serious of silly and shippy events that loosely follow the events of the movie).

But eventually after the argument where Zed reveals he stole Addison's necklace, Zed throws his letterman jacket off in frustration while tearing up before walking away. Wyatt had accidentally overheard the last part of their fight and saw him toss his jacket. He goes over to pick it off the ground so he can give it back to Zed later but stops when he smells The Scent and realizes Holy Moonstone it's him.

(No Addison hate in this! It'd be clear in the fic that her and Zed were already naturally drifting apart due to being in different stages in their life and also because not everyone stays with their first boyfriend/girlfriend forever. The fight just leads them on the road to admitting they'd prefer to be just friends.)

Zed and Addison break up around the end of the second movie but Wyatt just waits and focuses on getting to know Zed as a friend and letting Zed fully heal from the break up. Wyatt doesn't confess to Zed until around the end of the third movie (takes place in the scene where Wyatt strangely, randomly confesses to Eliza in the original timeline).

Zombies 4 review (spoiler alert)

so here's my zombies 4 review, as someone who started watching them when the third one came out because my friend wanted to watch it with me and then we started hyperfixating on them (especially Zed and Wyatt) and then I wrote a weirdly successful Zyatt fic (????? Bad Wolf, Bad Zombie on ao3) that I'm still updating three years later help also i got a cameo from Pearce Joza and I asked him what Wyatt would be doing in Zombies 4 and he honestly didn't really answer my question and essentially said he'd be getting into fights so 😭😭😭😭😭 new wyatt canon i guess???? 😭😭😭

First and foremost, two years ago when I was working on my fic, I had decided to have my story have a camp counselor summer before college, but then I got really busy with my college and stopped updating right before the chapter stating they'd be camp counselors was published. So that's on me I guess (we're going to joke they stole my idea because that's how I'm staying sane.)

No bc when I saw they were going camping and next to a waterfall I SCREAMED (if you haven't read my fic, waterfalls and camping are a big part of it)

Okay, first, I honestly thought the movie was going to be about vampires trying to infiltrate the school? And we'd actually be able to see them in college since they made such a big deal about it? But I still really liked it. The first song was pretty good too.

One of my qualms, however, was Willa being there. NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG!!! I ADORE Willa, literally in loveeee, but was girl not the Alpha??? The leader??? The one to trust??? the fuck you mean she has a 'new pack'???? Like I understand it's just for the school year, but still? They made such a big deal of her being the leader, it feels weird she's not there with her pack, you know? With the moonstone? Protecting it? If a werewolf was to be there, I feel like Wyatt would have made more sense (not just because I adore him and he's my little guy) Even though Pearce said he'd be getting into fights 😭😭😭

Bonzo and Bree, where were they?? Eliza being there makes perfect sense, nothing to say about that.

Disclaimer, I am an AVIIIDDDD Addison hater (NOT a Meg Donnelly hater, I adore her and I'm in love with her I just fucking hate Addison) bro wants to be oppressed SO BAD its crazy. "She just wants to fit in!" GIRL YOU HAVE PLATINUM BLONDE HAIR THATS IT like, she's a fucking cheerleader, she has the whole cheersquad on her side, the whole SCHOOL on her side (gets them all to welcome the werewolves, the zombies, go to the seabrook power plant to save the werewolves, etc), like she is objectively the most loved person in Seabrook and constantly says she doesn't fit in and doesn't have her group of people. (i go into depth about this in my fic because it's a big plot point) But also she doesn't hold people accountable? The aliens when they came to Seabrook fucking destroyed the place and she was all "It WaS aN aCcIdEnT zEd" the least they could do is use their magic powers to help????

ok i'm getting off topic, I can do my whole Addison rant in a different post.

How is Addison blazing a trail for anyone by being a QUARTER alien and also i don't see how cheerleading is uh like that big of a deal or how Addison thinks it/she is gonna change the world

So I'm confused, if the moonstone created vampires and daywalkers, how are just the vampires apparently living legends (as heard in the don't mess with us song) if both daywalkers and vampires have been here for eternity. I feel like they should delve into that deeper you know?? like Vampires who decided to go against the grain and go to the light or whatever or were able to come up with a cure for light sensitivity and started a new clan

But they were just created that way?? And if vampires are supposed to be monsters why aren't daywalkers either?? they come from the same moonstone after all. Idk man i'm just CONFUSED

and yet the garlic and dracula legends still exist, but how??? if their worlds are completely isolated?? I DON'T GET IT

Also, I wish they had delved into Nova's visions more (and Victor's) because tf you mean they've been having visions of each other, how, why, what sort of powers allow that to happen, why is it never touched on again???

It seems like none of the vampires know how to 'fly'

The electric guitar music whenever they show the vampires/shadyside is my favorite thing ever.

Milo's acting is so incredible and he's so fucking funny and this man has RANGE (also why the fuck did he throw the steering wheel out the car window bro what)

anyways back to the vampires and daywalkers, what makes them monsters??? Like the daywalkers are just humans who have can make fire. thats it. like. what. and the vampires can control the wind??? what vampire lore is that??? They can't even turn into bats??? And their fangs aren't there

But fr Zed in this movie is so FUCKING FUNNY I ADORE HIM

WHAT IS THE LORE WITH VICTOR AND NOVA'S DREAMS/VISIONS TELL ME

They harness the power of the sun okay cool, how, they have a moonstone i don't understand

But 'The Place To Be' is the greatest song ever and I learned it on guitar already because it slaps so fucking hard.

but fr, do the vampires actually know how to fly because it literally does not seem like they do or even really know how to harness the power of the wind

Also the music and the choreography in this movie was so good

GIVE ME MORE STORY GIVE ME MORE EXPOSITION, WHY ARE THEY FORCED TO STAY INSIDE, DO THE VAMPIRES EVEN GET HURT IF THEY GO INTO THE SUN???

also do they ever explain Ray and Nova's relationship?? like are they cousins?? friends?? siblings??

There was so much they could have done with the storytelling and the lore

the daywalker vampire feud is just so like weird?? idk bro like its both of your orchards you idiots, you both eat the same food

also why are they all listening to Zed, Addison, Willa and Eliza??? like if they're so hellbent on killing each other why are they listening to these four random people

Zed's relationship with Nova is adorable.

The daywalkers having shiny insides is not the type of lore i thought we'd get but okay

Also, Addison being the only one who doesn't get affected by the pulses is just so- shes fucking useless bro

Really the only thing that I didn't like was that the story felt rushed in a way? Like we never got an answer for why the magnetic pulse thing was there in the first place, I NEED ANSWERS PLEASE DISNEY

Victor gives me intense gender envy I might dye my hair from blue to red (the zombies movies vs having characters give me intense gender envy so much that I change my hair to look like them)

anyways i think those are all my thoughts, just wanting more exposition and storytelling
