Lucien is the youngest male in the main cast of this series and he’s also the only male who pretty regularly (though not always) displays any emotional maturity and intelligence.

He also seems to be the one y’all have the most problems with interestingly.

Lucien isn’t canonically weak.

He trained with Tamlin, who, in canon text, is the strongest warrior amongst the High Lords.

He hunted monsters in the Spring Court.

He fought across a whole battlefield to get to Elain.

He asserted dominance over Cassian in the same way that High Lords assert dominance in the text.

He broke his chains in Hybern when Rhys and Tamlin couldn’t.

He has marking of a High Lord heir.

If we’re going by canon text, Lucien is stronger than the other characters give him credit for. He’s underestimated.

Just like Elain Archeron.

Elain “His name is Lucien” Archeron. Gentle. Sweet. Polite. A lady.

Feyre says it : “a lady, that’s what Elain would become.” Lucien says it too. “My lady.”

And she is all of that … with everyone except Lucien.

With him, she ignores. Avoids. Withdraws. Very un-ladylike. Very intentional.

That’s the point. Lucien pulls her out of the neat, curated version of herself.

Meanwhile Mr. "If I offer you the moon on a string, will you give me a kiss, too?” Vanserra suddenly doesn’t know what to do with his words. Or himself.

He overthinks. He falters. The charmer goes tongue-tied. The lady stops being polite.

Together they'd learn to stop pretending, to stop performing...

With Elain, Lucien won’t have to be clever. Just honest.

And Elain would stop hiding behind politeness. With him, she’d speak when it matters. Push back. Choose herself.

They’d bring out what the other keeps buried. Her steel beneath the softness. His gentleness beneath the bravado.

Like the ship or not, the Elucien mating bond reveal was one of the best plot twists in the series so far and I'll stand by that

Something just came to my mind and I need to write it down. Do you think is just a coincidence that Lucien had been waiting for the bond to snap with Jesminda (for how long specifically we don't know) while with Elain it happened as soon as they met?

I think the main reason for their bond to be recognized immediately is to serve as a plot device to move Lucien from Spring to Night, but maybe there could be more.

I would like to share one of my elucien headcanon: it is set during the Calanmai Lucien had to participate, and we all know how bad it went.

But I like to think that, at the moment when the 'hunt' was supposed to take place and the magic was within his body, he felt the instinct to go toward the wall, as if something - or better say someone - from the human land was pulling him in.
