As always we are thankless society. #Petroleum prices have increased 80% from last year, but government only passed 18.5% in same period. The prices in Pakistan are in the bracket of world cheapest range.

In these tough times, Pakistan is likely to be blessed as reports of #Kharif crops are extremely good. #Cotton, #Sugarcane & #rice crops are expected to be bumper. While the #Maize crop is likely to remain moderate. Cotton prices are at 10 years high, but rice prices are low from last year. All in all, farmers will fetch higher proceeds, exports will increase, & food prices to remain stable.

Pakistan gross debt & liabilities have reached $122.6bn on June 21. Increase of $26.88bn in 3 years. But Pak paid $38.58bn debt repayments, increase reserves by $10.62bn, & reduced swaps by $2.08bn. The only interest payment was $8.4bn. Incorporating all these means only a $5.8bn increase in external debt in 3 years.

Auto ‘On’ market is always heating up. At the cost of industrialization, Pakistani consumer has been paying the huge price (Cost + taxes) but unfortunately due to demand-supply imbalance, the consumer had to pay 5-10% premium over car price. In the new Auto Policy, the government has taken measures to reduce prices and also discourage ‘On’ but it has further widened. The question is till when the consumer will suffer?
