“If you keep running your mouth,” He started to answer back, shyly taking another step forward, eyes never taking themselves off the other, “it might just be.”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m simply having a conversation. Don’t go getting short with me now.” The smirk didn’t falter from his face, brow raising as he watched Tanner move closer.
He eyed the other as he stood closer, the corners of his lips threatening to curve up into a smile. Tanner wouldn’t let him have the win. “---Shut up.”

“Well now, that’s some big talk for you, short stuff.”
“You realize you’re asking for it?” Tanner questioned more for the fun of it, taking a step further as the other only dug his grave deeper.

“Is that right, now? You know, it won’t be hard to keep you at arm’s length.” His tone was teasing, taunting Tanner.
“You think you’re funny, don’t you?” He bit down on his lip, an attempt to hide the smile that wanted to crack. “Because you’re not.”

“Is this where I make the obvious height joke?” A grin curved the edges of his lips, fingers curling around the neck of the bottle. “Aren’t you the gracious host.”
“I mean, you can, but you’ll see what happens if you do.” He retorted, cocking an eyebrow and taking a drink from the glass. “Why thank you.”

“You’re right, I won’t. And I’m going to politely decline. Oh bull, that didn’t even remotely offend you and you damn well know it. Hardly nothing, time to prove yourself”

“Didn’t know there was a damn party happening, especially with the curfew taking place. I’ll take the double glass since it’s free, but might need to leave afterwards.”
“Curfews are the perfect time to have a party, though this is more of a little gathering. Of twenty people. Give or take.---You got it, but if you leave, I’m responsible for whatever happens outside. I’ve offered people to stay.”

“It’s hardly a party,” Damien countered, “That’s from my shop though, yes? You’re not planning to serve me something sub par?”
“Wow, rude.” Tanner gave him a look, “I guess it is, I don’t know. Well, I was planning on giving you whatever I have.”

“Yeah I know, I just didn’t realize how much alcohol you’d have on hand. You’re crazy, it’s like you’ve got your own bar in here. All we need is a poker game. I wasn’t even gonna use a glass at all, just give me the bottle.”
“Used to be a bartender, I got all the perks, man. You want to get wasted, you’ve come to the right place. I can arrange that.---Everyone’s so greedy.” He chuckled, holding the bottle out. “Thank the alcohol gods I have enough to spare.”

“Save some for the little people now.” He joked, pouring his own glass before passing the bottle over. “Have at it, yo.”

“ I never knew the feeling of true job irrelevance till now, considering how I’m a night manager during a town curfew. Seems like my nights are free now. “ Heath replied shrugging his shoulders. He liked keeping busy which was the only thing that annoyed him about the situation, but it had a tendency to come out as sarcasm or humor
