If you live in Alaska, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, South Dakota, or Texas, we need you to take action to protect disability rights! ASAN’s plain language action alert explains what’s happening and how you can help. https://autisticadvocacy.org/2026/02/take-action-to-protect-disability-rights/
If you don’t live in these states, share this post with someone who does!
Update on Texas v Kennedy — advocates in Indiana convinced their state to drop out of this case!
Let’s keep going — if you live in Alaska, Montana, South Carolina, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Louisiana, or Florida, take action to get your state to do the same! https://autisticadvocacy.org/2026/02/take-action-to-protect-disability-rights/
We’re rapidly approaching 3,000 No Kings Day events, which means March 28 is going to be the biggest protest in US history. Let’s make it clear that America rejects the regime’s brutality at home and abroad.
me and my girlfriend just got nuked at the same time and got the same email from staff.
"we may choose to stop providing service to an account, at any time, for any reason, or none at all." "internally generated report" oh so you're admitting you just nuke people's accounts according to your staff members personal prejudiced whims????????
Thanks to some very eager fellow citizen scientists, I have now tested the new features pretty thoroughly and can summarise the new system as follows: wow this is dogshit.
Now, as to how it works and the specific implementations of the dogshiticity, here is what I have observed from initial experimentation:
OP will get notified of all reblogs, so far as initial testing has gone. This includes tagged reblogs, commented reblogs, and uncommented-untagged "silent" reblogs. This also continues to include reblogs-of-reblogs. The only place OP will be able to see this is in their activity feed, because there is no longer any single location to see all notes/ reblogs on a post. Nobody else will be able to see ALL reblogs.
OP will get notified of any replies directly to their original post. So if you chatter in the notes of the original, OP will see that.
OP will get notified of any likes directly to their original post.
OP will NOT get notified of any likes to commented subsequent reblogs, as those now form a "new" post. Anyone wishing to leave a like should click the like button on OP's section of a reblogged post, otherwise OP will not know.
OP will NOT get notified of any discussion in the notes on comment-reblogs, as those are discussions on a "new" post.
OP will NOT be able to find any specific reblog chain, because for OP the notes on their post will only ever show the direct-from-OP reblogs and never any subsequent ones.
OP will NOT be able to find anything in their notes, and the Activity Feed is not a reliable place to be able to go hunting for other people's previous reblogs.
OP will NOT be able to turn off reblogging on a post, so there is no way to keep a post contained if it takes off in a way you don't want it to.
Every chain effectively becomes a complete silo, unconnected to any other reblog and only barely connected to the original post.
We will NOT be able to scroll through the notes of a post and look for funny tags or interesting comments, because the notes are now wildly fragmented and there is no central reference point. So it will not be possible to look through the notes and see if a hundred other people have already said that thing you were about to say.
OP will NOT be able to do anything to stop a harassment campaign that fills their activity feed, but also will not be able to find any of it in the notes of their post unless the harassers reblog directly from OP every time. This is a feature which will absolutely be used to harass people.
It is also VERY unhelpful that we don't have language to easily disambiguate "comments" (as in, a reblog that someone added something to, thus creating a new post) and "comments" (non-reblgo chatter that happens in the notes). Not that we can reliably see either of those any more.
So! Now you and I are armed with this valuable knowledge about how the new system works, please go to tumblr's feedback form and explain why this is a series of bad problems that you would like them to stop doing.
The feedback form is available here: https://www.tumblr.com/support
for everyone asking, tumblr is making it impossible for you to add onto ANY post without making it its own separate post. If you put any addition on someone's post its now your post. The OP won't even be privy to any notes it gets unless they check that specific post. This makes it impossible to track anything which is really detrimental to artists who need to know their reach or just see what people are saying about their work. It also just means you can't reblog with any additions without taking notes away from your original post. This is part of what made twitter hostile and its the last gasping breath of a site run by people who don't understand it.
Heads up my trans and queer friends, do not participate in this study. Spread the word to stay away;
Skeet from Alejandra Caraballo that says: If you see this, don't participate. It's a rigged study by Lisa Littman and unethical researcher J. Michael Bailey meant to undermine access to care. Spread the word.
Minnesota is calling for a US wide general strike tommorow and many labour leaders have agreed. You are not hearing about this because the news is refusing to report on thus. Americans, if you are not participating, please at the very least do not spend (if possible) tommorow
I think it's planned for Friday, January 30.

While immigration officers support the Trump administration’s goal of deporting undocumented migrants, many of them have grown ‘disillusione
By Priscilla Alvarez, Kristen Holmes, Kaitlan Collins, Michael Williams, CNN (CNN) — Top Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino and some of h
HEY MINNEAPOLIS: THIS IS YOUR PROBABLY UNNECESSARY BUT GRATEFUL REMINDER THAT A) WAY TO FUCKING GO AND B) BULLYING THESE FASCIST FUCKS WORKS.
(Note that this does NOT mean the operation is over, they're still hearing legal arguments about that, but they're pulling Obergruppenführer Bovino and his particular death squad out because y'all have raised hell on earth without pause for them, and way to fucking go.)
The Border Patrol chief was the public face of a traveling immigration crackdown on cities governed by Democrats.
UPDATE: CONFIRMED THAT BOVINO HAS BEEN FIRED AND SENT PACKING LIKE A LITTLE BITCH. MULTIPLE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE NAZI L'S HAPPENING HERE, WAY TO GO MINNEAPOLIS.
THEY ARE SCARED. MAKE THEM SO MUCH MORE SCARED NEAR YOU TODAY.
so what i'm hearing is that trump is backtracking on the federal occupation here in MN, which they will blame on kristi noem. tom homan, who has ties to geo group—the for-profit prison and detention company helping ICE—is being sent to MN as a way to save face and change tactics.
mind you, this switch up is happening as more and more people want ICE abolished, after MN held a general strike, and public support for ICE has decreased.
what i'm saying here is trump and his lackies will want you to forget what has happened here (and is still happening as of 1/26/26). they may pull out ICE or decrease the acitivity here. they may send them elsewhere. maybe with different tactics, maybe not. whatever it is, DO NOT FORGET.
do not forget renee good.
do not forget alex pretti.
do not forget minnesota. the way they have damaged our communities. they took our neighbors. they took our families. they terrorized us. they hurt us. they violated our rights. WE STOOD UP. WE PROTECTED EACH OTHER. WE SHOWED THEM WE HAVE POWER. DO NOT FORGET.
i am hopeful for reprieve for my community. at the same time, i know this is not the end. the administration will keep lying. it will keep lashing out. please don't think this is over. continue supporting MN and continue protecting your communities.
we must continue doing our part. we are in this for the long haul. DO NOT FORGET.
you hold power, you are change.
sincerely,
a hopeful minnesotan
PSA: If you see right-wing nationalist comments on any posts regarding current events in the USA, including those on ICE activity in Minneapolis, etc... do NOT engage or reply to them.
They are, by and large, bots farming for engagement. Most of these blogs are default avatar and completely empty. You can also typically tell by their username that it was a generated one - nonsense name/word and numbers.
They need to be reported and BLOCKED at a minimum. If you own the post, just delete their reply. Don't engage, don't allow others to engage.
By replying, you are not only wasting your time - you are telling the tumblr algorithm that they are more likely to be real accounts because people are talking to them. This gives them credit to go and be more annoying on MORE posts. Other Example: this comment was on a post that had to do with the murder to Alex Pretti. There was no mention of immigration - this is just a stock reply.
I've seen this type of comment across ALL posts. This is not a person willing to engage in debate. This is likely a bot or an account made to spam the same paraphrased reply on as many political posts as possible.
Don't waste your time. Just block, delete, report for spam if you are able to and MOVE ON.
What can we do right now? A few action items occur to me. If you have other ideas in mind, please share them in the comments. To start... 1. Tell your U.S. senators to vote NO on the Department of Homeland Security spending bill they’ll be considering this week. No more funding for ICE brutality. At the very least, DHS’s funding should be slashed and there should be more oversight of the agency. If DHS is shut down after January 30 because no spending bill has been enacted, so be it. (The congressional switchboard is: (202) 224-3121.) 2. If you’re represented by Republicans, call them and demand they rein in ICE. They need to hear from you. Some Republicans are beginning to come around. 3. Urge your state attorneys general to join with other state AGs and to investigate ICE, the Border Patrol, and their leadership (Noem, Miller, Trump), with a view toward possible criminal prosecution for what they've done. 4. If ICE is coming to your city or is already there, call on your mayor and your state police to protect those protesting ICE. 5. Circulate a pledge in your community to oppose ICE if and when it arrives there. Aim for signatures from 10 percent of the adults residing there. 6. If you are a member of your local Indivisible group (or if you’re not a member, join one; or if there’s none in your community, start one), suggest a general strike like what we saw in Minneapolis on Friday. We can continue to plan these interim demonstrations with the goal of planning a much bigger and longer general strike in the future. These are some things we can do in the short run. I'll be posting more about longer term actions as well as we head towards the midterms. Friends, have courage. Be strong. Hug your loved ones. Remember Alex Pretti and Renee Good and others who have been brutalized by this regime. Please do not succumb to fear or despair. We will be victorious.
this is the sweetes, purest, most adorable thing i’ve ever seen
I played this while my cats were sitting next to me and they both immediately snuggled in harder and it was so pure
This has the same energy of that video of that woman yodeling an old traditional herding yodel to make the cows come to her
Woman who grew up on a dairy farm here. Cows LOVE music. When I was first learning to play flute, my mom would tell me to go practice in the barn so the cows could listen ( and also probably because she didn’t want to hear Hot Cross Buns for the 900th time). I would stand in the hay loft overlooking the main corral and they would all gather around and stare at me and swish their tails.
