i know things are hella grim in the nsfw/kink art circles especially in the last year --

but I'm hearing there's a NSFW-friendly ko-fi alternative built on atproto that's actively in the works, and being vetted by lawyers right now. as torrent-princess (OP) says, you should be able to swap out payment processors while keeping your account intact. this matters since even if stripe removes support, you'll still have a shop and all of your links intact. (ATproto is an infrastructure that bsky is built on, but is far bigger than bsky with far more opportunities.)

additionally, the Free Speech Coalition is working on a credit union specifically for adult work (including kink art) - here's the link so you can add your interest & support. Since this will be built by sex workers, there'll be far less risk of being debanked for spurious and puritanical reasons.

on a domain TLD level, there's an initiative here for a .furry domain built from the ground up by seasoned furries; it's unclear whether they'll support NSFW, but it's yet another promising turn of events for a group that's been similarly affected by censorship.

there are friends and allies out there helping to build a working parallel infrastructure. keep being vocal, keep supporting these initiatives when it's possible, and keep supporting your nsfw/kink artists. ♥

Hi, I saw your post about the tech priest nails- do you have video of them working? I'm really curious as to how that looks!!! Sidenote that concept is screaming at me to work into a costume for my rollercoaster stuff. Many thanks!

They're the adafruit nail stickers! I didn't get video of them because I was using my phone to test 'em, and my phone also being my camera makes that a bit tricky.

(I'm not any kind of affiliate so this isn't a paid promotion or anything, I just think they're neat little cheap toys)

I did find that if you have curved nails, the sticker deforms a bit because it's a very flat circuit and not as flexible as, say, nail transfers. You're gonna have lumpy looking nails. It also struggled and had stopped working by the end of the day because I'd been doing things like washing my hands. When they DID light up, they were pretty visible! Not enough to see in full very bright sunlight, but indoors or under shade they showed up well. They're best in a strong field, like a card reader, and will pulse/ flicker in the field your phone generates.

I'm going to try putting the nail stickers under false nails and using wudu nail rings to make them more reusable, hot-swappable augmetic style. Hopefully that way the light will still shine through the transparent acrylic nail, but I can practice my mini painting skills by doing nail art over them (and still have working LEDs by end of day...)

Only some of them become productive members of society, like hot rod builders or railway clock engineers. Virtually all of them are lost to constructing scale-model steam engines. Concerned parents are watching for the following signs.

Kids who get hooked on the machinist lifestyle will often buy ridiculous things in order to "prove" their affiliation with the gang. Last, an obsession with precision is often your last chance to have a talk with a wayward child. Are things in your house suddenly becoming rigidly aligned to an invisible grid system? Are you noticing things becoming burnished or otherwise polished, that weren't before? A trusted adult's timely intervention when your kid is micrometering a piece of sheet metal found in the alley may be all that is saving your kid from a lifetime of obsessing over thousandths.

With your vigilance and hard work, we can keep children from growing up to become machinists. Nobody's dream for their child should involve "estate sale full of hundreds of thousands of useless brackets."
