Hello! If you’re on this account, be aware that it is majority OC content! I will also post for the main gang as well though, so if you want, you can ignore my OC posts and primarily engage with the canon stuff!

Anyway, introductions (for my OCs), starting with!

Nathan E. Burns

Nickname(s): Nate (gen), Stoner (Tyler), Tweedledumb (me lol)

Age: 15 (beginning of season 1), 16 (end of season 1)

Height: 5’ 9” (beginning of season 1), 5’ 11” (end of season 2)

Ethnicity: Japanese-American

Class introduction: “Nathan Burns. I like carving, I guess…”

Real world fun fact: He’s a natural insomniac like Aiden, which means his sleep schedule/appearance doesn’t change after entering the phantom dimension. His eye bags are permanent.

Phantom dimension fun fact: He was outside when the gang entered the phantom dimension for the first night! He went out to smoke then blinked and the entire sky was red.

Elizabeth C. Archer

Nickname(s): Liz (gen), Eli/Ellie (Taylor), Lizzy (Aiden)

Age: 15 (throughout the whole series)

Height: 5’ 1” (throughout the whole series)

Ethnicity: White-American

Class introduction: “I’m Elizabeth Archer. I enjoy fashion and cosmetics.”

Real world fun fact: Elizabeth has divorced parents (who co-parent), and currently lives with her dad and stepmom in Georgia. Her mom lives in California. She often travels back and forth.

Phantom dimension fun fact: She was the first person in the group to die, but they got the wound stitched up quickly and it happened so early she woke up that same night hours later. This makes the group more concerned when Tyler doesn’t wake up and come back to normal in the real world.

Fun fact for their time in the facility: Nathan, much like Tyler, spent the beginning of their phantom dimension time there with his previous turtleneck swapped out for the basic white t-shirts they give all the kids. The reason? Because he too had Tyler’s blood all over it, both on his back from carrying him everywhere, but also his sleeve after he cradled Tyler’s head while the drugs kicked in and tilted it sideways so he could spit out any blood instead of risking choking on it

Sleeping all day and partying all night

Unrelated to the SBG season three (general) announcement (winter can’t come fast enough), but if there is one thing I will always give Red credit for, it’s actually knowing how to separate the physical appearance of little kids, teens, and adults in her art style. You can immediately tell what general age someone is based on the size of their eyes, the age lines on their face, and their general proportions. It’s truly wonderful.

Something less angsty after my last post, but cute Tythan idea that came to mind.

The group laying all together like they usually do during overnight sleepovers, only this time Nathan actually sticks around. Most of the time he dips at two am because being away from his mama for more than twenty four hours with his father home gives him anxiety, but him and his mom live with the Banners now, so he can actually indulge in some group puddle time. AND he can actually sleep.

Considering it’s the first time Tyler’s ever seen him resting before, he’d definitely be caught off guard by how pretty peaceful Nathan looks for once, and due to him being a caretaker (+ using physical affection with the people he’s closest to ie. his mom and Taylor), his first instinct is to brush Nathan’s bangs away from his face. Only, uh oh, Nathan’s not a deep sleeper like Taylor is, and that tiny touch immediately wakes him up, which is unfortunate for Tyler because he did NOT want to be caught doing that.

The moment he tries to yank his hand away, though, Nathan simply grabs it and lets it rest against his cheek before closing his eyes to go right back to sleep, leaving Tyler in an extreme gay panic while everyone around him just snoozes peacefully.

If I write Taybeth as an actual potentially canon thing, I definitely want to delve more into Elizabeth’s religious side.

The guaranteed religious guilt the moment she realizes the feelings she has for this beautiful girl are romantic? The prayers she’d make to God to cure her of her “sin”, only for her feelings to get more intense as time goes on?? The fear she’d have of her parents finding out about these brand new feelings that certainly can’t be right??? THE TEARS SHE’D SHED WHEN HER PARENTS INEVITABLY FIND OUT AND SHOWER HER WITH AFFECTION BECAUSE OF COURSE IT’S NORMAL, GOD DID NOT DESIGN US TO HATE OURSELVES JUST FOR FEELING LOVE!!

Adding on to this, the way Elizabeth would do a complete 180 afterwards. She’d have to learn how to love properly, because you know she’s immediately putting Taylor on a pedestal that is far from healthy, going from demonizing the feelings to worshiping someone who’s only a human. It’s not completely her fault she doesn’t know how to love properly, she just spent so much of her life wanting to be the object of devotion that that’s what she views as genuine affection for non-family members.

Taylor, I feel, would be caught between a rock and a hard place with this, because on one hand she can tell what’s going on isn’t healthy, but her abandonment issues from losing her father (+ her mother and brother in a more metaphorical way) leave her soaking in the fact that Elizabeth’s devotion means she isn’t planning on leaving her side any time soon. But they’re both really intelligent kids, Taylor especially on the emotional side, so they’d eventually have a genuine talk about it, and with the others around to show what actual love looks like, I like to believe they’d grow their relationship into something much more healthy given time.

Elizabeth and Eli may have their differences, but Nathan and Natalie are one and the same god damn person. Both went from a malnourished jackass to a somewhat jacked jackass.

I’m gonna have so much fun with that field day chapter once I get to actually writing again because the pairings are so fun and really push everyone out of their comfort zones with their least compatible duos. The list?

Nathan/Tyler (it’s needed, they get along the least out of everyone, even compared to Tyler and Aiden, which is an accomplishment)

Ashlyn/Aiden (also needed to get the boundaries set up ahead of time, even if it’s more subtle, because so much of duo activities involve working well together)

Ben/Logan (can’t speak + has trouble communicating to others. The perfect duo. It forces Logan to speak up more and Ben to figure out how to communicate with someone who struggles with social cues)

Elizabeth/Taylor (these two are already friends so it’s already a better start than most, but it does involve a lot of trust that Elizabeth tends not to have, and a level of openness that Taylor seems like she struggles with on occasion)
