When he's angry, his voice goes up a few octaves, just like Aunt Petunia, body rigid and neck strained.

When he looks in the mirror he sees the frown of Professor Snape looking back at him. Then, the same sneer.

The first time Severus brought himself a corset to give himself a feminine silhouette, one he bought after weeks, perhaps months, of consideration, he could hardly stop a little smile tugging at his lips. Although nobody noticed it, it still made him so happy to catch a glimpse of himself in a mirror, or a window reflection, and see the more feminine shape to his body. Honestly, it was better that nobody noticed it; he didn't feel like explaining this to anyone.

So the day went as normal. Completely normal, really. Nobody would have considered it especially significant. Nothing new.

But for Severus Snape?

It was the first time Severus would call herself a woman, even if no one else was going to hear it.
