Circled back to first brotherhood of steel guy after meeting Brandis. He's giving Buzz Lightyear vibes hardcore, they messed up naming him Danse instead of Buzz

His whole explanation of the brotherhood really makes them sound like raiders with a fun cult twist tbh... but I am biased from the show. Those brotherhood dudes were suuuuuper culty. I'll give him this gig to prove if he's actually douchey or not lol

Found my second brotherhood of steel character, much more pleasant than the first guy. Found his friends' distress signals and he gave me a fusion core. 7/10 on the good boy scale, could've been a 9/10 but he lost points on hygiene lol

I'm mostly playing this game because of an edit I saw of Nick. He kinda looked like if Spider Noir and Data Soong had a love child. But I'm really struggling with staying on task lol

Setting up supply lines is a pain, but the settlement building is pretty fun. The npcs are distracting as hell. Found an all ghoul settlement, Jones and Holly are way too fine for people missing their noses lol. Then I wound up in Bunker Hill, Deb was also fine. Then I ran into another ghoul, I've lovingly dubbed Giving Tree (ya know, bc i wanna climb him like a tree and let him give it to me all night long lmao). Kinda excited about him because he gave me a job, and I thought there was a ghoul companion in this game somewhere so idk if it's him or not, but i guess I'll find out

Codsworth and Preston are so perfect I love them. Maxed out Codsworth friendship and sent him home because I feel like I'm cheating having both of them and Dogmeat. Also saw a flirt option while talking to Preston, but lowkey ship him with Sturges and also I'm mostly here for Nick... who I will find at some point... maybe. Also I love the idea of popping out of a vault and running face first into your platonic soul mate. "Mutual Admiration Society" indeed lol. I picture Preston tweaking about his crush on Sturges on the road and Tara threatening to lock them in a closet to figure it out

Came to fallout 4 from the tv show, so most of my impressions are from that. I love Maximus so freakin hard, but I absolutely loathe the brotherhood. Just found my first brotherhood person in the game and he's coming off like a serious dickwad.

Not sure if I'm gonna circle back for him. I still have the prompt to go talk to him, but dude was a little too high and mighty for my taste. Like bro had a set of power armor and friends and couldn't beat off 10ish ferals?? Then he wants to come at me and Preston like he's hotshit and we didn't just have to rescue him??? Like plz be so for real rn🙄

Wandering the wastes with team Goody Two Shoes was so cute at first. Just a girl, her bestie, a robot, and their dog. Then the supermutants came. And with them. The beeping. I'd like to lodge a complaint with whoever decided that what this game really needs is kamikaze cannibals. Almost as traumatizing as running into the murfree brood in rdr2, but honestly the ambiance in rdr2 is unmatchable so they get brownie points for sheer terror

Headcanons so far for Tara, my vaultsicle

▪︎ When I was wandering through her house first thing in the game, I found out shes a lawyer. I've decided she was a public defender, mostly because now in the future shes literally a public defender.. ya know just with a gun instead of words

▪︎ I personally didn't care about the family she had and then Codsworth made a comment about how happy Tara seems now. So, I'm gonna say that it was a marriage of convenience. Tara wanted a house so she could have a garden, easiest way to afford that was with a partner. Would have divorced several times throughout the short marriage, but then she wouldn't have been able to keep the house

▪︎ Tara bought Codsworth specifically to keep her sane in that house. Hubs came back from the war and plopped on her couch and was driving her crazy leaving messes on the coffee table and throughout the house. He also doesnt get up to help with the baby ever and it was making her eye develop a permanent twitch

▪︎ Very conflicted mother. Had the baby because its what was expected of her, spent several months waiting for that promised rush of maternal affection and got nada. Took care of the baby because shes not a monster. Always had a nagging question if she'd love the baby more if she liked her husband

▪︎ Felt like a weight had been dropped from her back when she woke up sans husband and child. Torn wildly between being desperately happy to have her full independence back and horrendously guilty about the joy. Its not the baby's fault she wasn't cut out to be a mother, but sleeping through the night has been fantastic

▪︎ While shes enjoying sleeping through the night right now. It will not last. Right now shes been awake for like a week. Between running around doing errands for Sanctuary and the other settlements and surviving various fights, shes exhausted so shes just down for the count at night. At some point, night terrors are gonna start to plague her

▪︎ I personally am enjoying picking around in the wasteland playing post apocalyptic Sims basically with my settlements. So, Tara had very little interest in trying to track down the baby. With zero guarantee on how long ago the kidnapping even took place, the baby is pretty low on her list of priorities

▪︎ The only reason I can really see for her to look for the baby is gonna be the android man. I saw an edit of Nick on tiktok and I gotta find him, so probs gonna have to actually "look" for the kid at some point to get the guy. Little does Tara know, he's probably a romance that will happen later on

▪︎ Always had trouble making/keeping friends prewar. Pleasantly surprised to have a new best friend in Preston Garvey and his boyfriend Sturges.

▪︎ Prewar used to mentally refer to Codsworth as 'robo butler', but has now mentally upgraded him to 'robo buddy'. Genuinely lump in her throat touched that he waited for her to come back. Feels guilty lying about wanting to look for the baby to him. Intentionally not asking Sturges to fix Codworth's time keeping thingy so that she can lie about looking for the kid soon to keep him happy

▪︎ Way too excited about Dogmeat when she finds him. Had a dog that passed away about a year before the bombs dropped, was planning on rescuing another dog prewar. Will squish his face while scrubbing blood off it after a fight while declaring he is the most handsomest man in the whole wide land. Has a bandana collection for her and Dog, so that they match and people know he's hers. (I am salty that the bandanas only go on the character's face, so this headcanon is that she wears the bandana in her hair)

On the topic of Preston Garvey, aka Prestie the Bestie. This man is wild af. He literally met my vaultie, Tara, five minutes ago. Immediately sends her out to help somebody. Silly me, I thought he meant I was gonna help them build a well or something like what I did with Sturges. Nope! Walked face first with nothing but my dog and my robot into raider city to take out a factory full of more raiders.

Don't get me wrong, I loved it. But there was a lot of dying that happened first. Usually for silly reasons also. Which is fine because it's a video game, but irl Tara would've been soooooo dead

Then I'm a little miffed with Preston by the time I make it back to Sanctuary and he makes Tara the general. Like, sweetie, love, pookie, there are two of us... why does one of us have to be the general? Also the general should definitely not be the recently thawed out vaultsicle. Plus he's still telling me where to go, which seems like general behavior. So imma headcanon that he's actually the general because that makes way more sense to me personally

First time playing fallout 4, some initial thoughts:

What a fucking first day for my girl, Tara. Like in the morning shes having coffee with her hubs and kid and in the evening it's 200 years later and shes just killed a dinosaur.... waht??

Codworth is a certified cutie patootie and must be defended at all costs. He didn't leave the house for 200 years on the off chance that his people would come back... I can't. He's perfect. Also he has a buzz saw and a flamethrower so he's really fun to wander with

Dogmeat is sweet af, I love that theres dog clothes options. Makes me wish I could put a hat on Codsworth

Just got my new bestie, Prestie Garvey. He kinda glitchy and randomly babbles about quests sometimes, but thats OK because I love him anyway. He's so cute when we walk by other people and he asks them what they need

With my robot, dog, and minuteman I have officially made the goody two shoes party and I do love that. Still can't wait to find the android detective guy (he is half the reason I got the game, the other half being the fallout show)
