For the past 3+ years, I dated a wonderful human name Zo. I guess that’s why I haven’t been on tumblr as much! We met on OkCupid in 2015 and got together in 2016. From the start, they were my safe space and truly the most open, loving partner I could have asked for.
With them being half Cuban/Bolivian and with me being half Thai/Lao, we both got to share our cross cultures and families together. I’m grateful to have learn so much from them, especially about relationships and the importance of mental health. I loved we got to share many experiences together. From going to fun stuff like Harry Potter World to dealing with scary stuff like getting surgeries, we’ve always been supportive of each other.
With Zo having moved back down to LA back in June, our time together as a cute interracial queer non-binary couple has come to a close. I’m happy we met each other to always affirm each others gender identity, sexuality, and self.
I'm forever grateful for having them in my life and we had many beautiful experiences we shared together as a team.
As a last photoshoot in June 2019 we went to one of our favorite spots in San Francisco. I guess I wanted to share the love we had and our story on tumblr. It’s possible to have a healthy wonderful relationship and it end on a positive note. We are still best friends and will absolutely love each other forever.

Some people think I'm Korean/Japanese but I am Thai/Laotian! I haven't met many other Thai/Lao folks here in SF so I wanted to share my a little bit about my fam history of how we ended up in the U.S.
My dad's family is Thai/Chinese, my mom's family is Laotian/Viet/Chinese. I'm extremely proud of my family so I'm excited to share how far they've come. My dad's family grew up in poverty in southern China and moved to Thailand for a better life and for education. They did own a clothing shop once to make money and I know that eventually my grandfather became a cool published author in Chinese/Thai languages, so I did attempt to learn Mandarin (very unsuccessfully) He gave me a Chinese given name which is 小梅 (Xiao Mei = little plum). Our Chinese fam name is Chen and my last name is Thai. My dad left Thailand for the U.S on his own and did master's in my hometown in Tennessee. He worked at Samsonite where he met my mom and they both stayed in TN to make a family. Fun fact: My dad is a total nerd for soccer, cooking steak/potatoes, and listening to oldies, classic rock, jazz, etc music. I don’t know my mom's upbringing well but I do know my Viet grandfather was adopted into a Lao family and my mom's family came to the U.S after the Vietnam War from Laos as refugees (cause the U.S dropped and left a ton of bombs on Laos) and they landed in Northern California. A lot of them did go to Tennessee for high school education and some Laotian fams stayed in or moved back to Tennessee like my mom because of factory jobs like Samonsite/Nissan. This grew the Southeast Asian population and it was a small enough group that we all knew each other and are distant cousins somehow. On the other side of the coast, my grandparents stayed in California and started a donut shop in Concord, CA around 30 years ago! There's 3 donut shops in the bay and luckily they are far away from me to where I can't visit everyday. The end! That's kinda how we ended up in Tennessee. Some of us have accents and some of us dont. :) P.S look up the documentary by AJ+ on Chinese folks in the Mississippi Delta.
That fuckin picture of that guy at agraveyard holdin like, a cup or smt, with a mothman sized moth with him, both staring directly at the camera is somehow the funniest image but I haven’t been able to find it in months
This one?
PRECISELY THAT ONE
fuck this guy
These continents were already tamed by the indigenous inhabitants. And had been for tens of thousands of years.
Over 80% of the Native Americans were dead by diseases brought over by Columbus’ crew long before the Pilgrims arrived in North America. The Native Americans suffered an apocalyptic catastrophe that made the European Plague look like a bad cold season. This was not done on purpose but it was inevitable that it would have happened eventually.
So what we had here was a Post-Apocalyptic world being resettled by a technologically more advanced civilization. Anthropologically speaking, there was no other outcome possible but what occurred, not on the grander scale of it, anyway. That a bunch of political and religious refugees turned a culturally devastated land into the greatest bastion for freedom, self-rule, and scientific advancement this planet has ever seen is nothing to be sorry for.
Smallpox blankets
The effort to eradicate bison specifically to starve the Sioux
The trail of tears
Residential schools
Bounties for scalped Native Americans in Pennsylvania
The multiple broken treaties to respect Native Land
Please dont fucking act like Native genocide was some kind of unfortunate accident. It was a series of deliberate, violent acts that took advantage of the aftermath of the plagues Europeans brought with them.
“Here’s a pretty unbelievable story: Laurie Holden is an actress who plays Andrea on “The Walking Dead,” but she isn’t just an actress. Holden also works as a human rights activist with a group called Operation Underground Railroad. It’s an organization run by an ex-CIA agent named Tim Ballard that works to take down unsavory human traffickers and the like. So, Holden and the group went down to Colombia to try to take down a group of men who were trafficking in underage prostitutes. Ballard, Holden and co. ingratiated themselves into this group and set up an elaborate party in an effort to catch these men in the act….” Adam Pliskin, Elite Daily
“For months, the group put together a massive sting operation in cooperation with Colombian authorities. They each had an elaborate cover story. Ballard’s story was that he was the best man in a wedding back in the U.S. and was looking to hire several underage prostitutes for a big bachelor party in Cartagena. The cover was meant to lure the sex traffickers into a setup so that Ballard and his team could rescue the girls, many of whom were under 18. … In order for Colombian officials to prosecute the sex traffickers, they have to catch them exchanging money for the girls on tape. … Holden’s job was to “keep [the traffickers] occupied by the pool area while Ballard and the undercover officers worked to catch the traffickers on tape exchanging money.” Candace Smith and Aristides Pinedo-Burns, ABC News
“When the traffickers agree on camera to to pimp out the underage girls and the money is exchanged, the cops move in to make the arrests. During the ordeal Holden works with social workers to comfort the girls, who fear they’re the ones who will be in trouble and that they won’t be paid. Holden is clearly heartbroken when interviewed after the fact. But she should also be extremely proud of her work.” Ian Cervantes, Complex
