your life is not an optimization problem
as in you'll never achieve the perfect daily routine, sleep schedule, coping mechanisms, mannerisms, fashion sense etc. even after years and years of healing and improvement and self-discovery. you will never be so good at life that you manage to utilize every waking moment. its great to be productive and all but sometimes you'll suck ass. sometimes you'll take eight hours to be done with a twenty minute job. you'll prioritize the wrong thing. you'll sleep for 12 hrs just to avoid being awake. you'll relapse. and you'll relapse again. you'll forget to turn in the assignment. you'll order too little food. life is far too large and complex for you to even experience it completely, much less try to make sense of and control it. you can't. please give up on that and be at peace with the hours you lose. they are not separate from your life.
I wish psychic powers were real so I could force everyone to feel when I’m upset. Reverse empath. If I’m not happy why are you
PTSD BLAST!!!!
file -> phrases that are going to shift something in me forever
it’s okay if you thought you’d moved on but still get triggered by something
really cool how people online have basically turned adhd into a personality trait to the point that if you are trying to bring up ways that it impacts your behaviour (bc it’s an actual disability) people act like there’s something wrong with you. because everyone online acts like it’s a minor personality quirk that either excuses you from all criticism or a cringe tiktok disorder that deserves to be made fun of. as opposed to an actual disability lol
people with ADHD are
- 2.8 times more likely to develop dementia
- paid 17% less than their peers
- subject to reduced Life Expectancy by as much as 13 Years
- 8 times less likely to graduate from college (only 5% of Adhd students graduate)
- 4 times more likely to have PTSD
1 in 3 people with ADHD are unemployed, and nearly 1 in 5 are homeless
despite the attempts at pathologizing the medical community does, a lot of this is due to lack of accommodations, but it's far more that some quirky thing which doesn't really hurt people, it is just as genuine a disability as any other
not to sound bitter but i hope hurting me haunts you for years
Never understood the collective vehement resentment of small talk lol i hate the painful grind of small talk as much as the next person but i think id rather shrivel up and die than be denied nuggets of joy found in standing in an elevator and having a middle aged woman compliment my nails or bonding fleetingly with a cafegoer over the city's temperamental weather it's so integral to nurturing & cultivating the soul i think
“You shouldn’t self-ID as ADHD/autistic, you’re turning a very real mental condition into a trend” Ok then stop saying delulu. Stop speculating on which cluster C personality disorder the criminals you hear about on the news have. Stop saying “schizoposting” and “acoustic” and “is it restarted?” Stop using “psycopath” and “sociopath” as catch-all ways of calling someone a bad person. Stop saying “the intrusive thoughts won” when you bleach your hair and then turn your nose up at people who suffer from very real, very scary urges of physical/sexual violence. Stop saying “I’m so OCD” as a way of calling yourself neat. Stop treating BPD/ASPD/Bipolar as inherently abusive. Stop saying “OP I am living in your walls” without tagging for unreality. Stop diagnosing complete strangers you’ve never met on r/AITA with NPD.
You first. If you don’t want our disabilities to be treated like trends then stop belittling and minimising them. I’ll NEVER judge a person for trying find labels for their symptoms when an apathetic, racist, sexist, ableist healthcare system refuses to. But I will absolutely judge a hypocrite. Which a lot of you are
"who radicalized you" ever since i was a child i wanted other people to be treated nicely and fairly because i didnt understand why theyd deserve otherwise and it fills me with disgust seeing how people treat their fellow human beings sometimes
happy trans day of visibility🔥🔥🔥🔥
I don’t care about it at all (I have carried its weight around like a rock on my chest since the very day it happened)
me trying to convince myself that the whole spectrum of human emotions is a good and necessary thing to feel even if its not comfortable while im actively experiencing emotions that make me feel like my bones are being dissolved in acid
funny thing about “pure obsessional” or mental-only compulsive OCD is that you could be having the most devastating mental health crisis of your life and spiraling into the brainworm dimension but to everyone around you, you’re just politely browsing for medicated chapstick
literally just
i think when some of you say "neurodivergent" you just mean adhd and autism
schizophrenia makes you neurodivergent. ocd makes you neurodivergent. ptsd (and c-ptsd) makes you neurodivergent. bpd makes you neurodivergent. npd makes you neurodivergent. anxiety makes you neurodivergent. depression makes you neurodivergent. even the "scary" mental illnesses make you neurodivergent. i'm going to start killing
everyone around me is in love! and i have the loneliness of a 12 year old girl
