Flowing, soft, danceable sounds from Parra for Cuva. Do you enjoy listening to pulsating yet meditative sounds, just like me? This song provides exactly that. It's a track that's as beautiful on top of a snow-covered mountain as it is on a beach lounger. It has a dreamy sound that elevates any scenario to new heights. Dreamy vocals, ethnic elements, pleasant plucking from string instruments, and a groovy bassline that keeps the rhythm and increases the energy in the song.
This song is released on Parra for Cuva's latest album "Mimose," released on April 19, 2024. I highly recommend listening to this album. It covers everything from melancholy to optimism in its sounds.
Hannah Storm sings softly and pleasantly about "The Room". The composition and arrangement of musical elements are exquisite, allowing her serene voice to feel both calming and dramatic simultaneously. The guitar's resonance at the beginning of the song, followed by her almost whispering vocals and strings in beautiful harmony, are gracefully enhanced by a chorus that contrasts the softness, evoking a powerful sensation through the bass and additional strings. The song maintains its momentum with drums in the following verse, further building up in the chorus with choir, strings, electronic elements and piano, from what I can hear.
I can listen to this song over and over again. I highly recommend giving it a few listens and immersing yourself in its elements.
I stumbled upon this delightful song, "Elevator (Going Down)," by Crewless on Hype Machine just two days ago, and it has filled me with excitement. Crewless is an indie dance band hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, comprising four talented members: a guitarist/DJ and three vocalists.
Their rendition of the single "Elevator (Going Down)" captured my heart with its vulnerability and an ethereal atmosphere that envelops the flowing river of harmonies they've created. The bass provides depth, the guitar breathes freshness, the vocals convey heartfelt emotion, and the piano elegantly ties it all together. I'm eagerly anticipating more from this talented group.

VIDEOTAPE
Videotape, oh where to start? Beauty, simplicity, meditation, sadness, loneliness, geniality… I could go on and on, but I don’t seem to find the right words for what this makes me feel. How can something so simple be so beautiful? The piano plays in a minor and has a varied bass line that does not follow the main chord. The way the piano plays the semitones in the bass towards the end of the song, has a great impact of the outcome of “Videotape”. Even though they calm the song down it just fills up with variation. To make it even more interesting the drums are delayed as they enter in the end. When it comes to the vocals, they are like braided velvet; soft and floating into each other. What a great way to finish the perfect album!

Incubus
House of cards; the song is as fragile as it sounds. It is kept to a basic which makes me think that if it had lost one or more components, it would crash to the ground. But of course it is solidly built and glued together. There is no chance of it falling apart by a breath of air, not even a small storm would do the trick. They enhance it with a more or less perfect refrain; it makes a steel solid house of cards.
Reckoner has a rhythm I immediately start wondering about, searching for the number one in the beat. When I grab on to it, the guitar confuses me again making the song slip out of my hands and I have to pick it up again. I keep losing it until I realize they vary the count of the guitar every other time. It keeps me occupied until I wake up and start to listen to the beauty going on in adittion to the rhythms. The depth of the musicality in this song is intriguing. The way they play with harmony and complication is, to me, brilliant. One more time I get lost for words. Out of this world!
