He barely has any time to react before, out of nowhere, he feels a youki-like presence crushing down on his shoulders like some sort of boulder. Its force nearly brings him to his knees.
Itâs not youki â itâs different, but familiar at the same time â what was it called â Nen? The properties within the energy feel awfully similar to Kurapikaâs, but amplified thousandfold, and full of nothing but curious malice.
Hiei whips his head around at the same speed at his sword, its glint in the low light hopefully enough to warn whoeverâs staring at him that he does not take to surprises kindly.
"Are you following me for a reason?" Hiei asks calmly.
Pitouâs face was mildly obscured by leaves and branched, but she suspected that unless she used Zetsu anything (and anyone) would be able to detect her. She expected no less of the man before her, whose own energy flowed with familiar substance to a certain hardheaded friend of hers.
"Perhaps. A small reason.â Pitou chirped, casually dropping herself down from the thick branch she perch upon to the ground.
"You are a curious specimen. Few things your size pack such power."Â
Hieiâs show of hostility apparently did nothing to faze the approaching Ant, whose stride retained all the confidence in the world.
Perfect, Hiei thinks glumly, she's a talkative type. He pays no heed to her wordplay and resolves to end this as quickly as possible so he can get on with his evening.
As whoever this thing is reveals herself to him, he's not taken aback -- he would have been more surprised if she were human, like Kurapika, but one quick scan over her person reveals that she isn't. But she can't be of Makai, with her energy being so different from that of a demon's.
"The way you speak reminds me of another person I know with a silver tail," Hiei mutters, grip tight around the hilt of his sword. "Keep your distance, and answer my question."
