The first ever Otherkin/Nonhuman Pride Month will be happening April 2026!

April is springtime for the Northern Hemisphere, autumn for the Southern Hemisphere, and the wet season over equatorial regions, thus making it a month that both brings life and death, that bridges the gap between unknowing and knowing; it is a month that reflects the otherkin/nonhuman journey of finding oneself among the dead and dormant, coming to life, and growing into your true self.

Spring is a time of love, of connection, of friendship, of rebirth. It is a time of color and light. Autumn is a time of death, of sleep, of disconnection, of gratitude. It is a time of fog and shade. The wet season is just that — wet — and with its wetness it brings peace. With its flooding, it ends, it kills, it drowns, but it also revives, it supports, it feeds.

We are a community that must rely on each other, lest we are left in the dust. Our solidarity must remain strong like the roots of trees, like the skeletons of corals, like the pressure of the air in the sky.

We must be true to each other like the Earth is in April.
