My head canon is that after everything with Jelena, Terrence goes to another team, wins another ring and eventually retires. Becomes a Head Coach. In S1 he was supposed to go to Indiana.

I always wondered why he wasn't at Ahsha/Derek's wedding. Instead, Fahey is Derek's best man. I feel like he's still pretty devistated by what happened with Jelena and can't find it in himself to return to L.A.

I think that since Derek returns to his bad boy ways and - to quote Jelena - "Takes a dump in Miami". Terrence wants to stay clear of the drama.

According to James Larosa's S5 Instagram treatment. Jelena/Terrence grow, change and reunite. They take back the Devils and raise Miguel together. So, sometime after she does a Midnight Run... I like to think she went to him, when she ran off and that's how they started to rebuild!

Saw someone on TikTok say that they “always tag canon characters as OOC.” There were also a bunch of people in the comments urging everyone to do the same because “that way no one can be mad about how you write them.”

Um, no thanks. I won’t be doing that actually. And neither should anyone else.

Y’all, the entire point of fanfiction is that it’s FAN FICTION. You are the fan. It is your fiction. You get to choose how you write it and how the characters act. And if someone doesn’t like it? Oh well. Guess whose problem that is? Theirs, and only theirs. They can go find something else to read, or they can write their own. And if they harass you for it? Block and mute the dipshit on all platforms.

We’ve got to stop policing fandom like this, otherwise there isn’t going to be any fucking fandom left. No one wants to walk on eggshells and jump through hoops because y’all set a bunch of fuckass arbitrary rules in place that do nothing but make fandom a miserable place to be.

I completely agree. When I write characters, it's my interpretation of canon and how I think they would act and react in whatever scenarios I put them in.

I write for myself and post to share. Heck, I'm even open to discussion. However, I'm never going to write for some hypothetical reader.

While I had a LOT of issues with Season Three of Euphoria, especially Black representation... Sam Levinson, call a Black writer friend for an assist!

I did enjoy Maddy's arc. I thought her hustle and grind in the L.A. scene and then working with Alamo, made sense for her character. I do wish she'd gotten more screen time and a more coherent storyline. But still, Alexa Demie rocked it as an older and sharper Maddy.

y'all, I am happily reading fanfics that were posted over 15 years ago. My point is - never delete your fics!! I don't care how much time has passed or if you think they're not good enough anymore, or whateverrr. Never delete your fanfiction!! Someone will find it someday and be very glad you kept it up <3

Yes. When I got back into reading and writing fanfic after many years, most of the fandoms were small, niche and mostly dead. The earliest were originally written in 2010!

Although, I understand why some do delete them if they're not getting a lot of traction.

Most people write for themselves - but - post to share. It can be tough, especially if someone writes for large and active fandoms.

I think one of the ways to get writers to keep their work available is if you enjoyed a fic. Let the author know. Comment, review, kudo, like, share, rec, reblog, bookmark, etc.

You get to interact with the original text however you see fit (both as a writer, and as a reader), you can keep your favorite characters close to your chest. And it’s all for free. People will really write 100k+ words just for themselves and other fans. It’s amazing. Do you think that you would have liked German and Ahsha more as a couple if Derek wasn't in the picture?

Hey love!  Great question! 

Nope! I still would have hated them as a couple and I’ll tell you why. 

German is the definition of a f*ckboy. Look it up and I guarantee you see his face right by the definition. One thing that annoyed me about him was his jealously about Ahsha’s success. It may not have been obvious in the beginning but as I re-watched season one I saw it. He was all into her being a Devil Girl before she tried out and when she made the team. When she began to gain popularity and get great opportunities (ie The Dream video role) he started tripping out. There was no problem with her taking that role because she wasn’t screwing The Dream or even being flirtatious. The girl earned the job and didn’t do it because of German’s insecurities. German has major insecurity issues which I think led to him killing Olivia. 

Another reason why I couldn’t stand them was a couple was due to lack of chemistry. This isn’t me being biased but they just don’t have that couple chemistry. Plus their relationship was very boring with no excitement. Their relationship reminded me of a Saved By the Bell type of union. They had no spark to keep me interested. Did we ever hear them say I love you during season 1? I don’t recall. And the few ‘love’ scenes they had didn’t do anything for me either. We won’t even discuss the scene that shall not be named in season 2. I can’t watch that scene…EVER! And it’s not only because I’m pissed it happened, I just wasn’t pulled in. The chemistry didn’t force my eyes to watch and I didn’t get that ‘awwww I can watch this again’ feeling. Instead I felt awkward and will continue to fast forward that scene. It doesn’t exist! But that all goes back to chemistry like I said. Zero chemistry=zero interest in them as a couple.

I think the writers set it up like this on purpose though. German  and Ahsha aren’t meant to be endgame so we don’t get much from them. We’re purposely given one layer of their relationship because in the end….they won’t be together. Let’s hope so anyway. HAHA! Hope that answered your question! :)

I agree with this take. I think in universe, German is proud of Ahsha and her success initially, however, we quickly see he's jealous and insecure. She's outgrowing him personally and professionally.

She's also lying to herself and him, when it comes to her feelings about Derek and she really doesn't do anything to stop those feelings. She's too immature and afraid to just let German go.

In terms of production. It's very obvious that Taylour Paige and McKinley Freeman were chosen to be THE couple and their chemistry -and the fact that they're a gorgeous looking couple -carries the relationship.

German was created because love triangles are a soap opera staple. You can't get your Supercouple together, too soon! Paige and Jonathan McDaniel's chemistry is perfectly fine and they look cute together. That was all by design. I don't think the majority of viewers were thinking, "Oh, no. Don't make me choose!" when it came to who she should be with.

It's so interesting because in S4, I think German and Eve have amazing chemistry and I liked the whole Out For Revenge/Oops! I Killed Your Mom storyline. I liked the growing feelings between them, and both have secrets that would devestate the other in some way. In that case, Lionel feels shoehorned into their relationship, as she has NO chemistry with either!

My thoughts on episode 2 of Hit The Floor season 4.

OMG OMG OMG I have so much to say about the second episode that I don’t know where to start. Jude and Lionel will take put the most in this and even Jelena. So let’s start.

Derek is back with his bitch threatening my boy Jude, rein your horse Derek before you get stomped all over. Well he did get stomped all over, his arrogant is gonna pay for all the shit he put Jude through.

Glad that German is back, and we all know the reason why Raquel took the fall for him, was because she was dying.

Lionel’s reaction to Jude getting laid is priceless, as is her reaction when she finds out with who.

Eve should back the fuck away, if she touches Jude, I am gonna be pissed. She’s not a very good villain, everytime she does something that will hurt someone, for example Jelena, she smiles, and it’s like she keeps on pointing her fingers at herself, and saying ‘I did that, I did that, praise me.’ shut the fuck up, if you want to do something bad keep it to yourself.

I freaking love Noah guys, I don’t know why, but I do. Maybe it’s his smile, or the way he effortlessly charmed his way into my heart. THAT SLAP IN JUDE’S ASS is what did me in. Maybe even when he tease Jude to the point where Jude can’t resist anymore, and kisses him. I just love Noah as whole, and I cant wait to see what they will do with them two. SEX SCENE IN THE OFFICE IS MIND BLOWING.

MY KING JUDE AND MY QUEEN LIONEL, ARE GAY. Well Lionel is bisexual. So guys my two favorite characters are gay, isn’t this awesome.

Well isn’t that a nice slap in the face, now you are gonna have to apologize Derek, because if you don’t, you are gonna lose a chance at get back into the NBA. But you can relax Jude isn’t a bitch, he’s a nice guy who never stabbed you in the back.

So you all realize by now, that we won’t be seeing Jelena till the end of the season, this is her last episode for Hit The Floor, since she runaway with Miguel, to keep him from his disgusting father. And she also did good by selling to Jude, he will be great.

So those are my thoughts on ep2, I might fix and add more in the upcoming days.

I don’t agree that Derek “put” Jude through anything.  Jude threw Derek under the bus for proximity to Oscar, and then later for his love of Zero. Their entire relationship was transactional and Jude knew it. I love Jude, but he did awful things for the two most important men in his life. Derek has every right to be pissed at Jude.

It’s so odd to call Jude a “good” guy. No one on the show is a hero. Everyone has their edges. He lied, manipulated and did this person forget that he threatened Raquel with deportation and Miguel being sent to foster care if  she and Sloane didn’t give him the information they had about Oscar’s illegal dealings???? The same action that painted Olivia as evil… I love Jude. But it’s  very telling that so many of the fans are willing to overlook Jude’s shit behavior while bringing up everyone else’s. I get that tumblr loves a gay white man… but c’mon!

I disagree about Eve. Yes, she’s an OTT villain, but I don’t think she’s any less obvious than Jelena or Oscar. She’s doing the heavy lifting as the villain that previously Olivia, Oscar and Jelena did… with only eight episodes. I enjoy her.

Also love Lionel, but she has no chemistry with Eve or German. She feels shoe horned into their relationship.

I too, adore Noah. And his scenes with Jude are porn hot. However, he actually has a lot more chemistry with Jaimi than he does with Jude. I thought that they were going to go Zero 2.0 and make him bi… considering how many parallels there are between the two. No last name, the only new character who doesn’t get a backstory info dump and eventually he’ll ‘confess’ some character defining moment to Jude.

I'm glad Taylour Paige did what was best for her, and not the show, nor the fans. I will say, Paige has really done some interesting and successful work since Hit the Floor. I'm really looking forward to "I Love Boosters!"

I will also say, I wasn't a fan of how the show dragged Ahsha, especially through Derek, German & Pete... considering all of the awful things those characters have done, least of which was a murder, LoL!

I would have liked to see have seen Ahsha try to balance her ambition against the possibility of motherhood... and ambition still winning out!

I don't know. Jelena was Thee villain of the show - who took down everyone... from Oscar to Zero to Terrence. To give her and Terrence a happily ever after, I don't think would have worked at the end of season three.

If he'd come back in season four and she'd stayed throughout the entire eight episodes, then yes a reunion would have been perfect!

That being said, James Larosa has a whole S5 Instagram Treatment where they do get back together! Jelena/Terrence4eva.

What's the most underrated Dersha scene ever and why?

Ooh! I like this question. In my humble opinion, the most underrated Dersha scene is this:

Here’s why - We’ve seen the physical attraction between Derek & Ahsha build for the 3 previous episodes, but that was just harmless flirting. In this episode, they crossed the line.  Ahsha wandered into Derek’s bedroom and that was not by accident. She is drawn to all of his mysterious, sexy, forbidden manliness. If Ahsha was really about that German life, she would have made her exit when Derek emerged from his bathroom in just a towel.

Derek just had triplets in his bedroom, but seems to get more satisfaction from seducing Ahsha.  After some serious, eye-sex, double-ententres, suggestive flirting and heavy breathing, Ahsha gets “coached” on how to be sexy and proceeds to put all her moves on display for Derek. They had eyes only for each other during her photo shoot.

So here we are at the end of the day, after all the flirting, teasing and lusting after each other. It’s the culmination of the inevitable –

  You can see when Ahsha realized that Derek had crossed from teasing to serious. He  was probably feeling lonely, and was probably very turned on by all of her sexy dancing. To put some distance between them Ahsha said she was going home to her boyfriend. I like that she didn’t make it easy, because at this point, Derek was still just running game.

This scene is very underrated, but  it marked a progression in Dersha’s relationship. They Shout out to Taylour and McKinley because their acting was superb in this scene. They nailed it – all of the subtley, understated sexual tension,  and the yearning really looked authentic.

I don't think that any of their scenes are "under rated". They are the primary love story, and every scene has meaning and a specific purpose in moving them forward. Well written, with no filler, due to such a large cast and only 33 episodes in seasons 1-3.

I agree that Taylour Paige and McKinley Freeman have the chemisty and solid acting chops to make me fall in love and root for them. It's all very, German, who?

I also give props to James Larosa. With the popularity of Jelena (Villians often take over - think Alexis or J.R.) & Jude/Zero, he could have sidelined them - especially because Jude/Zero brought in an audience of white women and gay men, who normally wouldn't watch a predominantly Black nighttime soap. But Larosa stuck to the landing beautifully in those three seasons.
