I love this cap of Jack for many reasons:

it could be many things but I love the idea that she's wearing a hearing aid

the scars she showed Rodriguez are there: they are a part of Jack's past, present and future

but she's no longer crushed by them. she used to write poetry about being filled with "lies of hope", about marking herself "black and jagged" to cover those scars that she believed made her "a monster"

now she's truly hopeful, the word and concept are no longer related to lies, to something that ultimately will lead to deceipt and pain. we can see it on her face. her students are safe, she's on a shuttle with shepard, the future can be built. she BELIEVES

and as shepard themselves can say to jack, about the students "I can't think of anybody who would care about them more", which to me says so much about who jack is and the respect shepard has for her. and we know it's all true: jack is giving those students the care, the support and the advice that she should have gotten years ago. lots of things can be said and have been said about this character development, so i won't linger, i'm just very happy to see her like this

if you're "resting" but thinking of all the things you have to do, that's not resting, that's rotting. Even if you haven't done anything all day, give yourself some time to rest and truly relax. When you let yourself relax guilt free, you actually regain energy for your responsibilities.

this post has helped me a number of times since I first saw it. I have realized I was rotting instead of resting, and depending on the circumstance, got up to do something, or settled more comfortably to actually rest.

So my FIRST piece of information if you’re still a teen is that genuinely as you get older it will get easier to regulate your emotions. During adolescence our brains are undergoing a lot of growth and change that genuinely does make it harder to do this, on a scientific level. However, practicing emotional regulation skills can still help a lot and if you can find something that works it will make life easier going forward

this thing has been rolling around on my desk since summer & i have painted it four or five times to try and get it right. finally succeeded, and here they are.

the bases the chest joints connect to are glued to the hourglass with epoxy, but otherwise the doll? sculpture? is strung with elastic, and i can take it apart like a regular bjd. as you can see, the moon & sun sides can either face in the same or separate directions.

the idea for the sculpt is legit just my brain getting stuck on the expression "hourglass waist" and immediately conjuring up this rpg boss.
