Teacher Who Dedicates Life To Students Total Fucking BitchĀ
MERIDIAN, IDāStudents at Union Junior High School reported Monday that eighth-grade history teacher Evelyn Carmody, a tireless educator who has dedicated her whole life to the vocation of teaching, is a total goddamn bitch. āI fucking hate her,ā 14-year-old Scarlett Ramsey said of the woman who not only stays up well past midnight providing individual feedback on each paper she grades, but also sets aside nearly $1,000 of her income each year to buy books and basic supplies for students who canāt afford them. āGive us homework over a three-day weekend? Who does that bitch think she is? I hope she dies.ā Sources also stated that eighth-grade English teacher Mark Bradstone, who doesnāt really give a shit about his job and shows up hungover most mornings, is super popular and very cool.
This is totally impractical (it only works if you're halfway through your book), but I want eleven of them.
I haven't decided if I agree or disagree yet, but this is definitely an interesting counter-perspective. Here's a quick excerpt:
Iām on a train one day when I overhear several teachers talking about how much they hate grades and how they wish they could throw out their grade books. I chime in, saying how much I agree. For one, even for students at an early age, grades undermine a love for learning and curiosity by imposing external motivators.
But when I explain that I teach at a private school, I receive what has become a familiar, disapproving stare, as though Iām one ofĀ thoseĀ teachersāprivileged and misguided, and entirely shameless for even calling himself a teacher. My initial enthusiasm for discussing grading has devolved into an empty, unwelcome feeling, like Iām trespassing on public-school territory andĀ "real teacher"discussions.
Poorer parents are just as involved in education, leisure, and sports activities with their children as better-off parents, a new study has found. Dr Esther Dermott and Marco Pomati analysed survey data on 1,665 UK households and found that poorer parents were as likely to have helped with homework, attended parents' evenings, and played sports or games with their children in the previous week.

"Don't even bother trying to be cool," Jason says. "Just get out there and get rejected, and sometimes it's going to get dirty. But that's OK, 'cause you're going to feel great after, you're going to feel like, 'Wow. I disobeyed fear.' "

When recess takes place before kids sit down to eat ā instead of after - fruit and vegetable consumption increases by 54%.
āRecess is a pretty big deal for most kids. If you have kids chose between playing and eating their veggies, the time spent playing is going to win most of the time,ā said Joe Price, an economics professor at Brigham Young University. āYou just donāt want to set the opportunity cost of good behaviors too high.ā

A) Thatās not what the children were taught. Thatās what you get when Fox āNewsā writes the headline.
B) The parents who are upset about their children learning about sex, ways to obtain consent, and what gender really means are the same parents whose children can otherwise expect to have some challenging life problems (some which involve the services of Planned Parenthood).
