OKAY. So a lot of people have been watching this video and posting a bunch about how Lightning McQueen is dead. This is not true.

Let it be said that Lightning McQueen is very much alive.

The video does make it seem very much like he was brutally murdered in a racing accident, but if you read the description of the video, it states, “Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves…”

This quote alone let’s us already assume that he hasn’t been killed, but only been made unable to race. And the video description continues, “To get back into the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on the Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!”

This only further prove that Cars 3 will probably be more of a redemption story, with McQueen having a huge set back and slowly climbing back up versus him just straight up dying.

To state again, Lightning McQueen is NOT dead. This is just another instance of the media trying to tell us yet another beloved celebrity is dead.
