The thing that’s so tragic about Dog and Bird is that. I think they really did love each other. They just weren’t necessarily good for each other

Dog really did care about Bird. She did love her but her own upbringing taught her that this sort of love was wrong, sinful. Her own love overwhelmed her, and so Dog did what a lot of dogs do when overwhelmed: hurt.

And Bird adored Dog, so much so that for a while she didn’t mind how Dog was hurting her. She was willing to stick with Dog through the pain until Dog had healed from her own. But when Dog crossed the line, Bird realized the weight of Dog’s problems was too much for her to carry and so she did what most birds do when given the freedom to: fly away.

it’s terrible to think about but their love ultimately ended up hurting both themselves and each other. It simply wasn’t sustainable. They planted their love in a place where it was destined to wilt and rot.

I’ll take your “Jewish Ryland Grace” headcanon and raise you a “Jewish Eva Stratt.”

Think about it. An Eva Stratt raised Jewish but erased all public records connected to her people to protect them. So they wouldn’t be blamed for her mistakes. An Eva Stratt who wrapped her mission in Christian symbolism to make it more palatable to the public. An Eva Stratt who wholeheartedly believes in G-d.

An Eva Stratt who sits in the back during Yom Kippur services knowing the one person whose forgiveness she wants most can never grant it to her. An Eva Stratt who lit yahrzeit candles and says the Mourner’s Kaddish every year on the anniversary of the Hail Mary launch..just in case.

An Eva Stratt who chose to study history because of the stories her parents and grandparents told her of how their people were cast out and mistreated and killed over and over again - and she wanted to understand the why but could never find one. So she switched tracks to do everything in her power to make sure “Never again” wasn’t just a hollow slogan.

An Eva Stratt who knows how horrible humanity can be and still did everything in her power to ensure that they survived the impossible.

An Eva Stratt, who upon receiving the cure for the astrophage said the shehecheyanu for the first time in years.

I still think it is SUCH a nice touch that when Gandalf and Saruman are having their chant off in Fellowship of the Ring that Gandalf is using Sindarin and Saruman is using Quenya. Thinking of Thingol banning the Quenya tongue and Gandalf not using it either but Saruman embracing the actions of the Noldor and standing by the kin slaying while he tries to slay what is arguably his own kin, Maiar on Maiar violence.

i think it's been 3 years? since i made my first family tree, but it's always bugged me how messy it was presentation-wise + the possible misinformation caused by the way i didn't clarify that some of the stuff inside was my headcanon. so over my hiatus i decided to remake it haha ^^;; considering how ive made some redesigns in the time since, i think this was rather overdue...!!!
