What’s your process? How do you control your edges? When I apply my strokes it just goes everywhere and doesn’t look as sharp as yours, what layer type do you use? Thanks from a mediocre artist T_T

That’s a pretty broad question but I’ll try to give some pointers! 

I tend to make heavy use of clipping masks when first establishing a painting to avoid it turning into a confusing mess. I start by “masking out” (coloring in) the subject and then creating clipping masks on top which basically allows you to only color inside the subject and nowhere else. To create a clipping mask, just right click on a layer and choose “create clipping mask”. You can mask out other elements as well, in the golden retriever painting I masked out the lighting on the dog with some large brushstrokes (3rd pic on the process shots below) and then added different hues to it on a clipping mask. 

Beyond that, it’s just a matter of using a decently large brush and making confident brushstrokes. Lower the flow setting instead of opacity if you need a softer brush. And if you need a sharp edge, don’t be afraid to get in there with a hard brush and make it happen.

OoOOF it’s been a while Huh? Sorry for not posting here as much as I wish! But here’s a little something for UT’s 5th! Even after five years this game will always have a place in my heart, even if I don’t draw, I’m still here consuming all the content uwu.

Now for my second post.

Those of you who followed me before know me as CyanAtlas, then TechniColoris, and if we go even further back Ghost-Catz.

And you all may know of a certain skeleton I made when I was in the Undertale fandom. Missing the boi I decided to redraw him earlier today.

Me oh my oh my oh me it has been.............a loooong time guys hoooohhhh.

I’m still very much doing art and may actually come back here possibly....POSSIBLY....Big maybe possibly, for the most part I’m active on Twitter and Furaffintiy and Discord.

I’m going to make another side blog (yes yes I know I HAVE SO MANY) and it will be strictly art, only art just art, mostly my art and any asks or whatevs that I like but art related is the main subject. I don’t know how often I’ll post but please oh pleeeeeease follow me there.

I’m doing this if only because my art style has DRASTICALLY changed and I wish to showcase that. This account will still be up no worries XD you all can still look here, but yes I actually really plan on just posting art and maybe even have some fun asks answered too.

what undertale AU`s do you like?

Oooo it’s been some time and I’m sure a lot of the AU’s I liked are no longer around or popular but they were, Echotale, Mobtale, Joseontale, Steamtale, Understeam, Tribetale, Faithtale, Cursetale, Blesstale, Underfell, Underpray, Horrortale(Sourapple version) and a looooot more but it’s been a bit so I may not remember all of them aaaand yeah!
