i think i speak for the ace community as a whole when i say that if you’re not asexual, please, please, please do research on asexuality if you want to be a better ally. i’ve seen so many well-meaning allosexuals trying to explain asexuality or defend us but accidentally spreading harmful misinformation in the process. there are tons of helpful articles online (try asexuality.org), and so many real ace people on social media who post about their own experiences with asexuality. despite this information being very accessible, i still see people getting key details wrong all the time. our identity, community, and history is very important to us, and the best way you can be supportive of asexuals is by simply educating yourself before you try to educate others.

Abzulehnen ist dem männlichen Phallussymbol ein weibliches Enblem, etwa das Vulvabild, entgegenzustellen. Ein solches Verfahren entspräche noch zu sehr der herrschenden Ordnung und bedeute Konkurrieren innerhalb dieser Ordnung

Gefühl- und Körpererleben existiert niemals unabhängig von sozialer Vermittlung. Also hör auf dich selbst zu verurteilen für deinen Körper, deine Emotionen oder dein Selbstwertgefühl. Verurteile das patriarchale, kapitalistische System, welches dich als defizitär, unvollständig und mangelhaft zeichnen will, um dich zu unterdrücken und klein zuhalten.

“The concept of women ‘needing’ to shave is something based off of years of a capitalistic and patriarchal society, which feeds into beauty standards that most likely will end up benefiting men, and I have no intention of giving in to those standards. Besides, I don’t see any of the boys around me shaving their legs, so I see no reason that I should, either.”
