Also seeing a lot of Surya Bonaly backflip misinformation in the tags so let’s clear some things up:

She is a three time World silver medalist, five time European champion, and a 9 time French National Champion - she is an incredibly decorated and accomplished athlete that had an unconventional and unique skating style and presentation (and a weird ass mom that did no service to her career). Below is her free skate from Worlds 1994 where she won silver

The backflip was made illegal in 1977 when it was attempted for the first time in competition by Terry Kubicka because it’s super dangerous and because skaters are supposed to land jumps on one foot only. I believe they shouldn’t even be legal today because they are just so dangerous. Surya was not the first person to attempt the backflip and it wasn’t illegal because of her or because the judges were discriminating against her for being black (they absolutely were racist to her just not in this context). Her doing the backflip absolutely was a fuck you to the judges because she was doing an illegal move to protest the way they scored her and she landed it on one foot thus negating the argument for two footed landings. In addition, at the Nagano Olympics 1998 where she landed the backflip, Surya was 6th in the short and had pulled a muscle before the free skate and was in an incredibly amount of pain that even crossovers hurt for her - she knew she didn’t have a chance of medaling. She didn’t lose the gold because of the backflip itself instead the backflip was a protest against the scores she’d received her whole career and a final fuck you at one of her last major competitions.

I totally agree she has the best backflip of any skater because hers has a one footed landing and doesn’t look clunky or break the flow of the program BUT I don’t think anyone should be doing backflips period - that’s how skaters break their necks.

The backflip became legal only recently when Adam Siao Him Fa (fellow French skater born to Mauritian parents) kept doing it in the 2023-2024 season as an homage to Surya and to prove he was so good he could take the point deduction.

His most famous backflip moment was when he ranked 19th in the short program at worlds and during his free skate - believing he didn’t have a podium chance in hell - threw it in. To everyone’s absolute shock, he rose 16 places in the ranks to get bronze, even with the deduction. That was his first worlds medal. After that the International Skating Union (ISU) made the backflip legal again to capitalize on its virality. Adam still does it but has said that it’s not as fun if it’s not illegal and is considering not doing it in the future(literally his words).

Ilia Malinin then started doing the backflip after legalization and the ISU hyped him up for it. Ilia isn’t the one who popularized the backflip nor is the reason it is legal - but he is the ISU’s and US Figure Skatings poster white boy so for causal fans of the sport it might seem like he’s getting preferential treatment to his non-white backflipping predecessors but there’s more nuance to the story. Let’s stop reducing an incredible black woman’s career to a singular moment and only highlight the injustice she faced due to her race. Or at least, you know, watch the entire program first (it’s her 1998 Nagano Olympics free skate) before you start talking

ok here's my thoughts on what I've seen and know from mcrperu

I think that Gerard was in HEAVY reconditioning for a while after the first leg of the tour, so much so that the moat nurses have to watch over him to make sure he doesn't lose his shit during the show (spoiler alert) due to how brainwashed and out of it he is

They have an "orb" to examine the bands behavior. The orb rewards Gerard the gentleman when it thinks he's been good, implying hes been taken away from him for a period of time, perhaps the whole reconditioning process. This also can nod to an evolving tech and ai presence in draag (CLANKERRR)

The gentleman seems to be treated by Gerard like a living thing. Since we know they "met in prison" that could either mean A) the gentleman was a real person who was gee's cellmate in some prison or reconditioning thing but was taken away and/or killed and he was gifted that doll to remind him of the guy, kinda functioning like a Victorian mourning doll but slap on some deluded behavior towards it. Or B) the gentleman was given to him in whatever captivity he was in and he lost his damn mind bc it might've actually been the only other thing he had contact with. OOORRR C) he's just dilly dallying with the doll and it means nothing (likely not)

So the MOAT is probably that of a psych ward or asylum just a lot more evil

This doesn't seem to explain the purpose of the previous time loop, but it could POSSIBLY kinda explain how exactly Gerard was surviving for another show every week after being killed, bc it's a medical setting so they might have procedures to resurrect ppl (it's likely, theres a lot of reasons a dictatorship might want to unethically keep it's people alive) which could make this a manually orchestrated "time loop" .. BUT WHY!!!!!???? idfk

but most important of all: THE CLERK. Hes in some white hospital looking outfit and eventually a gurneyz which could mean hes also been reconditioned but maybe more recently. Gerard murders him probably for revenge,,

UNLESS

what if this is all BEFORE the events of the 2025 tour? What if this is the PAST? what if the we're going BACKWARDS? What if the clerk is killing Gerard because he killed him first, what if this is just the start of where all this insanity happened? Maybe thats why they're in the old uniforms, the heavy surveillance, the doctors and the nurses, the gentleman coming out of the orb (being given to gee for the first time?) this is all new, and Gerard is so sensitive and feral about it all he goes apeshit and kills the clerk, who might have originally been his doctor

Lots and lots to think about... and it'll only get worse😭
