I have this idea stuck in my head, but idk if it makes sense so bear with me. Ok so pro!bakugo with reader who has a weak quirk and is pregnant or just gave birth and she's like attacked while bakugo is on patrol or something. Obvi hr freaks out and rushes home when he hears but when he gets there reader is unharmed and just making a snack or cuddling the baby or something while the attacker is like tied up in the corner. Does that make sense? Idk, even if you dont like it thank you for reading it
thank you for the request sweets! :3 imagine reader with whatever quirk
warning: semi fluff, slight angst if you squint
he was finally back to patrolling, after learning to carefully balance being a new dad and pro hero at the same time.
but his patrol had been quiet.
he almost ignored it. almost. mina knew better than to call him while he was working—unless something was wrong.
he ducked into an alley and answered, already irritated.
“katsuki,” mina said, and that alone made his chest go tight. she wasn’t laughing. wasn’t teasing. “hey—okay, don’t freak out, but there was a distress alert flagged near your apartment.”
“security marked it as a possible break-in,” she continued carefully. “they couldn’t reach you and—”
he didn’t let her finish. the phone crackled as he took off, explosions detonating beneath his feet as he launched himself across the city. his mind spiraled—your quirk was weak. you were still recovering.
“katsuki,” mina’s voice cut in again, sharper now, “we’re sending backup—”
“i’m closer,” he snapped, already seeing the building.
you were still recovering. your quirk wasn’t meant for combat yet.
bakugo stormed inside, explosions flaring at his palms, already shouting your name, ready to set this entire block on fire if it meant you were safe.
the baby was curled against your chest, wrapped up and warm, tiny breaths steady as you gently rocked back and forth. one hand absently rubbed their back while the other reached into an open snack bag on the coffee table.
in the corner of the living room, a man sat slumped against the wall.
bound. immobilized. wide-eyed and terrified.
bakugo stared between you and the intruder, chest heaving.
“…what,” he said hoarsely.
you looked up, blinking in surprise when you noticed him standing there.
“oh,” you said softly. “you’re home early.”
his knees nearly gave out.
he crossed the room in two strides and dropped in front of you, eyes scanning your face, your arms, the baby—searching for injuries that weren’t there. his hands hovered, unsure where to touch.
“are you okay,” he demanded. “did he hurt you.”
“no,” you said gently. “he tried.”
bakugo’s gaze snapped to the man in the corner, rage flaring.
“i didn’t do much,” you interrupted quietly, adjusting the baby so they stayed asleep. “just enough.”
bakugo didn’t say anything at first.
he just stood there, staring at you like his brain hadn’t caught up with reality yet. like if he blinked, the scene might disappear—might turn into the nightmare he’d been bracing for the entire way home.
“…come here,” he said finally, voice rough.
before you could respond, he closed the distance and wrapped his arms around you.
too tight. desperate. one hand pressed firmly between your shoulders, the other curling protectively around you and the baby both, like he was trying to fuse the three of you together just to make sure you stayed real.
you barely had time to adjust before your face was pressed into his chest, his heartbeat loud and fast beneath your ear.
he shook his head, jaw clenched against your hair. “don’t. don’t say anything.”
his grip tightened for half a second, then loosened just enough so he wouldn’t hurt you, his hand carefully shifting to shield the baby’s head. his breathing was uneven, shallow—like he’d been holding it in since the call.
your hand slid up his back, slow and grounding. “we’re okay,” you whispered.
the baby stirred between you, making a small noise, and bakugo immediately softened, his thumb brushing gently along their back. the contrast was almost unbelievable—this same man who could level buildings holding his family like they were made of glass.
he pressed his forehead to yours, eyes squeezed shut. “don’t do that yourself, woman.”
the baby’s tiny hand curled around bakugou’s finger, and he froze for a moment, stunned by how something so small could steal his entire focus. he let out a shaky breath, then whispered, “yeah… okay… i got you both.”
then the front door opened.
“okay, bro, we’re here—” kaminari started.
you were still wrapped up in bakugo’s arms. he hadn’t let go. if anything, his hold tightened just a fraction when he realized there were suddenly eyes on you.
kirishima stopped short. “…oh.”
mina’s hands flew straight to her mouth. “aweeee.”
bakugo cracked one eye open and glared at them over your shoulder. “what.”
“nothing,” mina said instantly, grinning. “this is just—oh my goshh.”
kaminari blinked. “should we goo..?”
“yes,” bakugo said flatly.
kirishima laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. “man, look at you. what a manly dad.”
bakugo ignored him, chin settling on top of your head as if daring anyone to come closer. you shifted again, adjusting your footing, and he immediately steadied you, murmuring under his breath, “i got you.”
“you can stay,” you said softly, looking up at the squad. “i haven’t seen you all in so long!” adjusting the baby to your hip while you waddled over to your guests.
mina’s expression melted instantly. “are you kidding? we’re not going anywhere.”
sero nodded. “yeah. we’ve got you.”
kaminari glanced at the couch, then back at you. “do you need to sit? i feel like you need to sit.”
bakugo scowled. “don’t rush my wife.”
but he guided you back anyway, slow and careful, keeping an arm around you as you lowered yourself onto the couch with a quiet huff. he stayed standing until you were settled, then sat beside you, one arm still locked around your shoulders.
mina tiptoed closer. “can i say hi? i still can’t believe im a auntie.”
the baby yawned, tiny and perfect.
“mina, would you like to hold her?” you asked, which made bakugou squint, unsure.
they watched, heart tightening, as mina carefully lifted the baby. the little one’s eyes fluttered open and fixaed on mina’s face, cooing softly. bakugou’s expression softened in a way only the baby could bring out.
kirishima’s breath hitched watching mina interact with the baby.
“that’s gonna be you soon, kirishima,” sero nudged him lightly, watching mina cradle the newborn gently as they all watched.
kaminari grinned, lighter than usual. “she looks so much like bakugou.”
“she’s quite literally his twin, i carried her for 9 months and she comes out looking like his replica.” you huff, kissing your husbands cheek.
katsuki looked down at you, and something in his expression finally eased. he reached a hand out, gently brushing the baby’s head. “yeah… she’s perfect,” he muttered, voice rough but soft.
“uh guys what about the bad guy–”
