         Kakuzu sits idly at the table as she continues preparing the tea,   two-toned gaze even upon her as fingers rise up to take hold of the familiar cloth of his mask.   He pulls,   drawing the material down to rest below his chin in perpetration of participating.   When she speaks it is with a somber tone,   imbued as second nature from her tongue though the conversation is light.   Is he to notice what lays between the lines?   Or was it simply that he had been around so long it was second nature to see the underneath of things?

          He makes a curt noise of neither interest or disinterest in her questioning,   the threads of his cheeks pulling visibly with speech.     ❛ There’s no need to trouble yourself with it. ❜

putting some snacks on a plate anyway, she put them on the table right as their tea had finished heating up. carefully, she filled two cups and also sat them down, softly pushing one cup towards him.

“ if you’re not eating any of them, i will. it’s really no trouble to put them out. “

.. not that she was particulalrly hungry, but lately she had definitely started to develop more of a sweet tooth now that they actually had time and resources to afford this. especially with tea she found it hard to not put a plate down, so it was really up to him if he wanted any.
