When I took my Jyn Erso photoshoot, I wanted to do a black and white filter! I was planning on doing all the photos black and white, but that didn’t end up happening, haha. I like my costume in color. 

The editing is done by me myself and I. ;) Enjoy.

Cosplay Tip :: Buying Fabric

1 : 

Always have a reference to go off of. It’s great and all to have a vision of your costume in your head, but it’s even better to have photo reference/drawing reference.

If it’s a mash up cosplay, bring both characters photos. 

ANOTHER THING you can do, is bring a figure or anything of that nature of your character. :: Example :: I brought a Jyn Erso figure to get my fabric.

2 :

Get at least a half yard more fabric to be safe if you can. That way if you make a mistake, you can fix it without going back for more fabric. (Unfortunately, I usually can’t afford this.)

3 :

If you can’t tell the colors of the characters clothing, look up either color palettes or figures. I’ve found that figures are more accurate then anything.

4 :

Always compare and put the fabrics you picked next to each other and try to envision them together. Sometimes, the fabrics may have perfect colors, but look horrible together. You may need to change some colors slightly from the original depending on your chosen fabrics. 

We can’t get exact fabrics to the characters, so improvise!

5 : 

When you’re buying your fabric, always always ALWAYS do it in person. I highly suggest not buying online. You don’t know the texture of the fabric, and you don’t know the length.

6 :

Always check your pattern (if you have one) for the amounts you’ll need. They always give a little extra to be safe.

You can slightly lesson the amount if needed. (But ALWAYS measure before buying if you do this!)

This photoshoot scared my so bad!! I had to walk on the mossy / algae covered rocks to get these photos! I almost slipped and fell into the water multiple times.

Here’s a tip, don’t where heels when climbing slippy rocks!

This was honestly such a fun photoshoot! My photographer is always heplful with ideas and poses. I can’t pose myself if it were to save my life!!

So happy with the way the editing turned out. All those ours sure did pay off!
