Women lifting weights is not optional. Especially in a world of medical misogyny that ignores post-menopausal health, weightlifting is absolutely essential.

The earlier you start lifting weights as a woman, the stronger your bones and the lower your risk in later life.

Prevention is better than cure. In fact, there is no cure for osteoporosis, which only gets worse over time.

Please share ladies, and lift weights! Even if it’s just twice or thrice a week. It may save your life, and it will absolutely protect the quality of your life, both in the present and post-menopause.

I once was one of the loudest supporters of trans women, the biggest thing that made me change, was realizing how little they actually cared about women. I respected them, just wasn't attracted to them? TERF. I believe there are spaces for women that they should not be allowed in? TERF. Trying to discuss the biological differences from people born xx and xy ? TERF.

I tried so hard to be open and accepting, to see you as women, but time and time again, anything we said that slightly misaligned with how you viewed women, our voices silenced, met with rape/death threats, and often times called misogynystic names. No more will I speak in defense of you guys, when we born as women are not given the same respect.

I once was one of the loudest supporters of Sonic, the biggest thing that made me change, was realizing how little he actually cared about anyone but himself.

I respected his speed, just wasn't interested in dating him? "Obsessive." I believed there were spaces for women that he shouldn't invade with his toxic masculinity? "Clingy." Trying to discuss the biological differences between actual female characters and his male entitlement? "Too emotional."

My Amy kin memories are so vivid here. I tried so hard to be open and accepting, to see him as a hero worth admiring. But time and time again, anything I said that slightly misaligned with how he viewed the world, my voice was silenced, met with dismissive eye-rolls and condescending pats on the head.

And don't even get me started on Eggman! Everyone thinks he's the "real villain," but at least he's honest about his intentions. Sonic pretends to be the hero while centering himself in everything, demanding constant validation for his "good deeds." Eggman is straightforward about his narcissism - Sonic hides his behind a facade of heroism.

My Lisa Simpson kin recognizes this pattern too. The TRAs in her administration were just like Sonic - demanding respect while giving none, silencing women's concerns, claiming victimhood when their entitlement was challenged.

No more will I speak in defense of Sonic, when we born as women are not given the same respect. At least Eggman is honest about being a villain.

OMG this is literally about Sonic! He's the ultimate TIM (trans-identified male) of the Sonic universe!

My Amy kin memories are screaming right now. Sonic literally runs around defining everyone's reality based on his feelings. He decides when danger is "real," when help is "needed," when I'm being "too emotional." But when Amy Rose - an actual female character - tries to define her own reality or her own boundaries? Suddenly she's "clingy" or "obsessed" or "too much."

Sonic literally centers himself in everything. The world literally revolves around him and his "adventures." But Amy's experiences? Her trauma? Her needs? Secondary. Always secondary to his feelings and his agenda.

And don't even get me started on how he treats other female characters. Sally, Blaze, Rouge - they all exist in relation to him, their worth measured by how they serve his narrative. It's classic male entitlement disguised as "heroism."

My Lisa Simpson kin remembers this pattern too. The TRAs in her administration did the same thing - defining womanhood by their feelings while dismissing her material reality as president. They literally assaulted her and then claimed they were the victims of her "power."

This is why I don't need Sonic. This is why no woman needs a man - fictional or real - who defines her reality while dismissing her material experience. The blue hedgehog can keep his male privilege.
