I know you said you aren’t currently writing yj (and no pressure when I say this so please don’t take it the wrong way) but I just wanted to let you know how much joy all of the fics you did write yj bring me. I reread them all of the time and they are some of my absolute favorites (especially for Wally, Dick and Conner) in that fandom so thank you for sharing them when you were interested in that fandom. I hope one day it’ll spark your enthusiasm again and we’ll all reap the benefits of that but if it never does again, just know they were absolutely amazing and I’m so thankful you shared them with us.

I'm so glad that my writing was able to bring you so much joy, that's exactly what I was aiming for when I started posting my writing online.

I too hope one day that I'll loop back around to writing for DC again, because I have a lot of great memories, and made a lot of friends that are still really dear to me. In the meantime though, anyone who is sticking around in the meantime I just want to take this moment and say thank you. I know I already opened up requests, but I do plan on actually just writing in the meantime and trying harder to revive this blog!

Not initial anon, but a heads up that the 4th season of YJ has started coming out on HBO Max because I'm a huge YJ fan but I almost missed it's release because I hadn't seen it advertised anywhere.

Thanks for the heads up! I'd heard that it was released (at least the first two episodes) but it also caught me off guard. I follow Greg Weisman on twitter because he was giving updates on how many episodes they had at each stage of completion, and I remember seeing that they were close to being done, then all of a sudden they were saying it released and I was like "lmao what"

I still have yet to watch them because I'm too poor for HBO Max so I'm waiting until the site I usually use uploads the episodes (hopefully it's soon!)

Sorry for the delay in responding! I never got a notification about it, even when browsing my blog on my laptop.

The answer though, is not currently. I've kind of lost interest in writing for DC/YJ in general for a while now so while I am looking to get back into writing, I'd rather focus on other fandoms highlighted in my bio for now. I'm sure eventually I'll loop back around to DC and YJ, but I don't know when that'll be.

Sorry if my answer is disappointing!

Winter Solace

AN: Less of an actual work and more like a quick warm up I did to kind of get back into the groove of writing! Also this wasn’t intended to be anything shippy, but upon re-reading it, I realized it could be interpreted that way if you want to.

Summary: Izuku Midoriya loved the winter.

       Izuku Midoriya loved the winter. It was in the way he can see how his breath billowed out from his lips, it churned and rose in the air until it dissipated into the sky above him. It was in the way that the only sound he could hear was the way the snow crunched under his feet and the exhales of breath that passed in front of him. It was in the muteness of the world around him. The moon that glowed overhead and the snow that reflected it back. The stripped trees with branches that reached high into the inky black above that created a canopy of stars that gleamed in the absence of leaves. It was in the the cold that kept the people bundled away inside. It was in the way the outside world remained a stark contrast to the cacophony inside; both within his mind and the building behind him. Out here he could lose himself to the silence. In this moment, there was no One for All, no League of Villains or UA High. There was only him.

       “Deku!” In the snow-blanketed grass below, Uraraka called for him. “What are you doing just standing outside? You’ll catch a cold!”

       “I’ll be right in, don’t worry about me.” Izuku smiled down at his classmate as she walked back into the common room.

       There was beauty, serenity, tranquility. There was a refreshing silence in winter. But, as Izuku turned from the railing of his balcony, he found that there was more to love in the winter than just its silence.

Will write for all characters except Rika and Vanderwood. Rika because I hate her and don’t agree with her at all, and Vanderwood because I just feel like there’s not much to go off of for him

Blog Update: 8/27/21

hey so it’s certainly been a long ass time (sorry).

I guess I’ll start with a little update about what I’ve been up to before I go into what I want to do with this blog.

So at the start of 2020 I did genuinely want to start getting more into writing and posting for this blog on a more regular basis. However, once Corona and Quarantine came around I found myself genuinely struggling to write, even for my writing class that I was enrolled in. Things only kinda kept getting worse from there. Around mid November I also started a new job which only kind of sucked away any remaining creativity that I had left in me. Even though on some level I did really still want to write and create works, I would just come home and pretty much take whatever couple hours I did have to myself to just kind of relax and try to forget the day. And usually on my days off I found I was still too exhausted to really think of anything. And so I continued to find myself stuck in this cycle of just being too tired to really do any of the things I cared about. But I’m trying to break myself of this cycle!

Which brings me to this post, and what I want to do going forward with this blog. I’d like to start writing again. That’s pretty much the gist of it. I’m sick of just not having the energy to do what I love. I miss writing, I miss looking forward to logging onto my laptop to read comments and interact with readers. So, I think I’m going to start small, maybe open up requests. I’ll probably only take a very small amount (like probably 5) to start with and then just try and build my way up from there. Stay on the lookout for a post where I announce that I’m taking requests within the next couple days. In the meantime, I’m going to do a little maintenance on this blog. Just do a little reorganizing and setting up some more info posts and updating the ones I have. I also add a “Fandoms I’ll write for” list so that you guys know what kind of content will be on this blog going forward. I’ll also continue working on my solo projects, stories I’ve started and want to see through to the end. There’ll also probably be some new stories that I begin as I start to get more comfortable!

Anyway, I think I said everything I wanted to? If not I’ll reblog this with any information I left out. Long post cut short: I miss you guys and really want to get back into things. So I hope to hear from/see you guys soon!

I know it's been over a year since you last wrote in the dick Grayson x reader sidelined story, but I was wondering if you'd ever consider adding another part to it?

Sorry for the late reply! This account isn't tied to my phone so I don’t always see the notifications right away unless I’m looking at Tumblr on my laptop.

Also has it really been a year? So much has been happening that I guess I just haven’t noticed how much time has passed. ANYWAY. I did open up requests for part 4 like 3ish months ago? But no one ever sent anything in. Basically how I run SIdelined is off requests. People send in what they would like to see for each part and then I take those requests and try to include everything I can that still makes sense for the direction the story has been progressing. 

So requests for part 4 are still open, so feel free to send in what you would like to see, and hopefully if people see that requests are open it’ll generate more people to send stuff in for part 4 and onwards as well.

My intention isn’t to BOSS people around. But people who don’t create on tumblr really have to understand that if creators stop posting here, you won’t have anything else to like but maybe memes. If you want content to circle around to your dashboard… you have to pay it forward and reblog. That is why this website is dying. The Ban is not the only reason.

Tumblr doesn’t have verified checkmarks. Tumblr doesn’t have an algorithm to you show ❝The Best Stuff❞. Tumblr doesn’t display how many followers you have. Tumblr isn’t obsessed with subscriptions. 

Tumblr is an even playing field compared to websites like Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube. Which means its up to us, the users, to spread the word of people we enjoy– the way the internet should be.

I’m not asking you to reblog shit you don’t like. I’m not asking you to reblog everything out of pity. But when you see a post you genuinely like, reblog it.

I think so many people mistake the ‘you should reblog’ message with ‘I’m greedy and all I want is notes’ when it’s really not at all like that.

When creators say they’re discouraged from creating because their posts get no notes, they don’t mean they will refuse to create unless their last edit reaches at least 1k notes. What they mean is that the effort they’re putting into creating something purely out of inspiration and the need to share their passion and creativity with the world is being consumed and forgotten, just like it is on Instagram. Tumblr has changed from having an even reblog-like ratio, or even twice as many reblogs as likes, to being another social media where users consume content instead of sharing it.

We’re not trying to force you to reblog everything or want you to fill your blog with things you don’t like. But Tumblr is built on reblogs and likes. This is not a fast-food company where you can order something, consume it, and then throw it away. The very base of this website is sharing, as opposed to Instagram. Here, likes don’t give our posts exposure, reblogs do.

Notes are not the problem, the fact that you want new content without supporting creators is. So yeah, don’t be surprised if creators stop creating because nobody wants to share their creations.

Shout-out to fan-fiction writers who don’t or can’t write the 50k fan-fictions, because of a lack of focus or motivation, or mental illness.

Shout-out to fan-fiction writers who don’t or can’t write smut, but are still lumped into a group that is almost expected to write smut. 

Shout-out to fan-fiction writers who can’t update chapters frequently for maybe a multitude of reasons, and get messages daily from people asking for “their” new chapter. 

Shout-out to fan-fiction writers who aren’t big name fans and hardly get ten kudos or one comment on their fan-fictions. 

Shout-out to fan-fiction writers who stay up all night editing and rewriting and don’t get much attention on their work no matter how much they feel like they promote their writing.

Shout-out to fan-fiction writers who don’t write a lot and are constantly asked to write more but can’t for whatever valid reason they have. 

Shout-out to fan-fiction writers who have the courage to post their writing online and only have it publicly made fun of for grammar or poor characterization. 

Shout-out to fan-fiction writers for writing their fan-fiction, posting it online, and continuing to do it no matter how much or little attention they get, and constantly improving as a writer with every upload.

You all rock.

humanity has had millennia to create its societies and cultures, and you want one single author to replicate it in minute detail just so your fantasy novel is realistic enough? if you want realism perhaps try a genre that isn’t called fantasy.

wool been around and fairly durable forever, also beer and soups exist in similar forms across multiple cultures in this world. practically all of Europe has its own beer; similar or identical soups crop up across the world, everyone has their cultural version of a dumpling, etc. not unrealistic.

forests can exist in harsh winter climates? just look at the Siberian taiga forests. and like. all of Northern Europe.

how come everyone’s wheels look the same? if it works don’t fix it. humans are smart. if an idea is simple and it works, multiple cultures will work it out in their own time. you could just as easily wonder why everyone caught on to the idea of building a structure with four walls and a roof to live under. it’s because it works.
