For this year's @terrorscififest it's my delight to bring to you:

Post-rescue sci-fi AU of AMC's The Terror (2018) -- Part of The Terror Sci Fi Fest 2024 -- Sequel to CONSUMED (though you don't need have read it first) After their rescue by the handsome and dashing James Clark Ross, the surviving crew members of the Terebus mission do their best to re-integrate into society. Some attempt to pick up the pieces of the lives they left behind more than twenty years ago. Others choose to leave the Imperium and create new lives entirely. Only Steward Bridgens seems unable to let go of the Terebus. They insist there was an eighth pod. One more crewman, lost somewhere out there in Itijuk space. Dear reader: Bridgens is correct. --

Chapter 1: DOORS In which: Ross instructs Little on the proper technique to coax a sleeping mind out of long-term stasis, and Jopson finds themselves engaged in an act of eyebrow-singeing bravery. Again. Mild peril. Cross-steward bitchiness.

thank you so much for running this event—i didnt participate in writing but i enjoyed the works everyone wrote and one of the best parts of this week (which was a rough one for me) was coming home in the evenings to see what people had come up with. again thank you so much for your efforts and for creating this space :)

“I say, are you well?” Fitzjames asks him. The rest of the table is looking at Francis now, too, though no eyes seem to burn into him the way Fitzjames' do. Francis stares back, and suddenly he can't breathe, thinking of blood at Fitzjames' hairline, him collapsing on the shale, his labored breaths petering out to nothing, and the place between his ribs where, even now, the bullet wound that will kill him is waiting for his body to weaken. “No,” Francis says the word much too loudly as he stands.

Darling, I'd go through it again... Here is the first chapter of my fitzier time loop fic. I started writing this months ago and then promptly got obsessed with a different show. Summary:

Hickey is holding a knife to Goodsir’s throat.

They both have their helmets off, and while the last terraforming team made progress on establishing a breathable atmosphere on the red planet, they still won’t survive long without their oxygenating filters.

The knife, though, that’s a bit more immediate of a concern.

As is the Creature.
