ama be real, I been much more invested in my own OCs and stories and the like more than anything fandom related these days, but I barely can bring myself to draw and post about them most of the time because I am very well aware original content is not sustainable for accumulating an audience
Originally was a test with some pencil brushes trying to see what works best for me in terms of coloring, but then decided to use other barely used brushes for a bit of background and glow effect This is Naomi, who was actually a fandom OC that I defandomized for a collaborative original story. She doesn't start off looking like this though, she changes her form later on in the story...
Little test with Tessie, including a different color palette for her and deciding if I wanna make her hair more goopy looking... I'm still having doubts about the more goopier looking hair though
Either it's the way i didn't render it well enough or maybe it's better to leave it more hair shaped. Figured I'd try the goopier one because of her being a hybrid of a sea angel and having a bit more of a membrane-esque consistency in terms of shape

Variety of doodles of Tessie, who the brain decided is the current OC hyperfixation after getting help from friends on a story to defandomize her with. I will say it's still funny how the surname went from Euclid to something like Jones
For most of her life she was very sick, coming in and out of hospitals for treatment until her family got fed up with caring for her and sold her off to be used as an experiment hoping to get some financial compensation out of it after all the money they spent caring for her. Her sea angel appearance is the result of said experimentation that combined the use of both science and magic. She escaped the facility, but she did eventually find Davy Jones himself and got a found family out of a group of misfits seeking to take down the corrupted and powerful elite
Also in a fit of extreme stress and panic her head splits open like an actual sea angel's does when it hunts down food :D
SO I had a character called Tessie that I have not only defandomized over the past few months but also got a few friends and I to collaborate on a story with her in it. This is her with her new adopted dad, Davy Jones (the design was made by a friend of mine named Cris)
Story is in its infancy but it does involve pirates, curses, human experimentation, and corrupted business people \o/
By the way I was recently told I have Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder. Guess all my many health problems and disabilities have something in common
