Simon Riley is the kind of man who will be staring at his tray in the middle of the mess, poking at whatever slop they’ve been handed, and say something like “my wife used to make this. Hers was better” in this low, hollowed out voice that makes every man at the table go quiet and exchange a look.

Nobody says anything.

Oh, they’re all thinking. She’s gone, then.

He keeps a folded photo in his front breast pocket, worn soft at the creases from how many times he’s handled it. He doesn’t show anyone. He just takes it out sometimes and looks at it with this expression like he’s being slowly gutted and then puts it away again.

Half drunk at the pub between deployments, leaning heavy on the bar, he’ll say “I just miss her, s’all. Wish she was still here with me” and someone will quietly offer to get him another pint because what else do you say to a grieving man.

Whole time you’re at home perfectly fine, he just really fucking misses you.​​​​​​​​

Ghost stares down at the tiny plush in his hand, as if it personally killed his family "the fock is this?"

"It's you, si!!" You smile, hands curling around his until he grasps the plush firmer. "It's mimikyu! The pokemon!"

Ghost looks between his hands and you, eyes narrowed under his skill mask. He rumbles in that low, trying to be soothing but not quite able to way "i think you got scammed, love. Pikachu has arms. And legs."

You laugh, miss the way ghost goes soft and warm at the sound, and point back at the plushie "no, it's a new Pokémon! It hides under a little disguise it built, but people still think it looks scary...a little like someone I know..."

"...It's supposed to be me. Yer a real mean bird," ghost grumbles, and you fully expect him to toss the plushie into a bag or pocket. Instead, he takes the clip it's attached to and puts it on his belt. Ghost squints in amusement at your expression "wot? You gave it to me. I'm keepin' him."

From then on, ghost an mimikyu are inseparable. No, he doesn't care that people do a double-take seeing him carrying around a little cartoon character, it's a gift from you and ghost treats it like one. Sure, next you see him mimikyu is oddly discolored, as if thoroughly scrubbed of blood, but you just laugh and say "Awe! He's battleworn! Just like my big guy, hm?"

The first time an enemy tries to take the plush from ghost, price has to pull strings to get any and all footage redacted. Yikes.

Neighbor!König who feels guilty purposefully mixing up your mail with his. he desperately wants to talk to you, to create any excuse possible to see you, but as soon as you knock on his door the capacity to speak leaves him. you're friendly about 'the mailman's mix up', swapping envelopes as he silently listens to you. he kicks himself after closing the door for not saying something, anything, to you. his chest feels tight at the mere idea of you thinking he's weird, embarrassment eating him up as he tosses his mail onto a table. he'll still try again tomorrow, practicing what to say to you in front of his bathrooms mirror

König has social anxiety, everybody knows that. Point and laugh at the massive military man who can't order his food in person (please don't actually). Yeah, yeah, it's ridiculous.

That kind of anxiety also means that you're his first partner! Isn't that adorable? You think it's cute but he's seeing this as a loving torture method. He's fairly certain that he needs to be put on a heart rate medication because his heart is always racing when he's around you— and not with anxiety this time!

König can't even look at you without feeling like he needs to lean against the wall! You're just so cute when you're trying to find a video from like six days ago that you forgot to show him, and when you had allergies that one time and kept sneezing, and... Damnit! He's blushing and grinning under his sniper hood again— and he's supposed to be focused on a mission!

There was one time you decide to randomly give him a kiss, just pulling up his sniper hood and pecking him on the lips; you could've sworn that his face was already turning red before you could put the t-shirt covering his face back down. "Schatzi... You're making my face burn again..." He'd whine, pulling you into a hug and bending his back to hide his face even more in your neck. "You torture me..." He huffed although there was no real bite behind it, especially not when he's nuzzling your neck. "Ich liebe dich..."

Simon Riley really does try to keep up his big, scary military man person around you, he really does!

But it melts away as soon as his body heats up with alcohol. He whines drunkenly when you aren't on his lap, slurring out praises in hopes that you'll come back to his lap faster. "C'mon, lovie... hic Just wanna hold m' pretty bird..." He whines, only growing quiet again when you finally sit back in his lap.

"Si' I just had to go to the bathroom, sweetheart," You'd try each time, hoping to soothe the behemoth of a man. He always got so needy after a few glasses of wine, just wanting to hold and stare at you like the precious doll he couldn't help but still see you as. Just because you did some house repairs when he was on deployment doesn't suddenly make you no longer be his beloved doll, his pretty bird!

"But you didn't have to leave me alone..!" He grumbled, sounding almost like he was about to cry. "Don't worry, I won't leave again, sweetie..." You reassured him with a barely stifled giggle, pressing loving kisses to his scarred face. "I love you, Si. Even when you don't want me to pee." You added with a soft giggle, finally giving up on suppressing you laughter at this massive man acting so adorable before pressing a kiss to his lips.

Hii! You can call me Solaris, I'm a 24 year old fanfiction writer who may or may not be obsessed with Pokémon and fluffy moments.

I'm a mixed trans person (let's going with nonbinary for now) and I'm extremely gay (especially for men that I shouldn't be attracted to unfortunately). I write primarily for transmasculine and cis man readers (also GN!readers at times) as I don't really see enough gay men being written, I think we need to get to a point where the readers gender is equal across the board lol

I think Kinger liked to walk around the digital circus with Queenie, pointing out different glitches that occured on their way to cafe because ‘did you see that block get stuck in the floor and disappear’ brought a sense of normalcy to their lives. Of course, the real world didn't have problems with collision detection but it helped thinks feel more like talking about a person stumbling for a few steps before regaining their balance; concerning but still something that you could laugh off.

Going up to the cafe and ordering coffees with diagonal-cut sandwiches, sitting down an chatting about what happened in the day despite being glued at the hip like those movie-perfect lovebirds. Inseparable is what they were, a perfect example of two lovers that could never have a day where they were angry with each other.

Queenie has to initiate any sweet kisses between them, Kinger being a bit too into his head and thinking that he'd make the wrong move— he's too much of gentleman to want to make his beloved lady uncomfortable! You'd think that the birch wood he's made of would turn into cherry with how flustered he got the first time, he even apologized in case he made Queenie feel pressured into kissing him (she didn't, Kinger is just so adorable she couldn't help herself!).

What wasn't known by many was that if you scratched at the underside of Jax’s chin, his eyes would get wide, and he'd just… sit there with a big dopey grin on his face. His ears would relax, shoulders slumping as he hummed so steadily you'd think he was purring.

He told you not tell anybody, especially since you had done it as a joke the first time and he sure as hell didn't mean to do that in front of you!

There was one time you did it after you caught him after that argument he had with Pomni… certainly was not pleasant to come off the bliss of having his chin scratched and ears caressed just to have to try to save face around everybody else!
