Break the Cycle || Headcanon || 9/14/18 - 9/16/18
The day had finally come. It seemed to speed up to an almost blinding pace the closer it came. There were still so many things Thane needed to resolve in Los Angeles now that Gia was back, but he didnât have the time anymore. There was no point in worrying about it now. He was on his way out to London, and he knew it was coming. Things would have to be further resolved whenever he got home. He was fairly certain that those relationship things could be figured out then. For now he would just go to London, and regularly call back to Gia whenever he had time so that they could continue to keep in touch.
It seemed so strange having her back in his life. Thane packed up his luggage into the taxi that he had gotten to take him to the airport, and the entire time he thought about the last time he had travelled to London. Heâd thought he had lost Gia forever, and he had been considering moving back to the city he loved, one that would take him far from his troubles in Los Angeles. He still felt as though London would be a better option for him than where he was now, but with Gia being back he couldnât just up and leave. Not to mention, he had Genaya living at his home and needing him too. There was no point in uprooting everything just yet. He had time to plan, and there was no point in being hasty. Still, everything seemed like night and day on this trip. He was leaving feeling more relieved, and yet much more tied down to this city.
The taxi drove him to the airport and he sat in the backseat watching the familiar scenery flash past the window. Thane still felt conflicted, he still felt as though there were something not quite right with himself. He should be completely overjoyed at having what he wanted most back in his life, and although he was very happy about that, there was still a part of him stuck in this gloom. Thane had tried so hard to pull himself out of this rut, he tried to move past these emotions but they seemed to be permanently fixated in him. He relaxed back against the seat and closed his eyes as he tried to relax and not let the darkness overwhelm him again. He was going to London. London always seemed to make him feel better somehow. He would be able to think clearer while he was there, and he was hoping being back to work would make him feel more worthy. He needed something to make him feel as though his life werenât completely pointless at this moment, and his work should keep him busy enough that he should start feeling as though he had a purpose again.
Once he got to the airport he pulled his bags out of the taxi, and carefully maneuvered them all towards the counter to check his bags in. Thane was always careful to travel during the least busy times that he could so that he wouldnât be stopped too often for photos. After taking care of his luggage, he took his carry-on and went through security. Thane noticed the people pointing cameras in his direction, trying to get pictures of him, but he tried not to draw attention to the fact that he noticed. This always happened, it was his normal, and heâd learned that the more attention he payed to it, the more likely they were to keep going. Waiting at the terminal gave Thane more time to think again but he didnât want to. He felt as though heâd done far too much thinking in these past few months and that was what caused him to be in the position he was in mentally. Heâd been alone with his thoughts for far too long.
After he had checked into his hotel in London, things seemed to pick up again. He had his schedule for everything that would be going on for the next few days. He was going to be in a flurry of costume fittings, table readings, and getting things ready for filming. He had obligations for press and promo for Fantastic Beasts. Since the full promotional schedule hadnât kicked into gear yet, he was only doing small things sporadically, but he knew that would change quickly. Somehow, he was relieved to be busy again. His life felt more normal when he was in the middle of a hectic schedule where he nearly had no time to sleep, and he had to find naps in his trailer, or something close to that. He enjoyed that sort of schedule. He thrived on being tremendously busy.
Things didnât start to feel truly better until he found himself at the table reading. He was sat amongst his fellow cast members, and couldnât stop the smile from spreading over his face. Everyone was excitedly talking to each other about various different things. Thane sat back and watched everyone getting to know each other better, if they hadnât already known each other from projects before. For him, heâd already costarred with Felicity in The Theory of Everything. It had been a life changing role for him, and he had been lucky to have her alongside him in it. He would be lucky to have such a solid partner in this yet again. Thane glanced around at all of the faces that would be contributing to this, and then down at the script in front of him. Everyone was around with their various drinks, prepared for a long day of going over the script. It started to feel real again, he was actually going to be acting, and didnât that make him start to feel the smallest bit alive again.
