Black cat auditions photographed for Life Magazine, 1961. The auditions were for Edgar Allan Poe’s Tales of Terror segment “The Black Cat.”
i love one (1) disaster wizard
It’s a good metaphor tho, because the situation is never going to get better if you don’t eventually pull the door. And afterwards, no matter what the damage was, you’ll have a working cabinet, whatever plates you could salvage, and a place to start putting new plates.
Reblogging for that comment ^
Hats off for negative jokes turned to wholesome posts
So this was me for a long time. Afraid to open the door, certain that all that I was would crash and break. That I could never be repaired.
But I opened the door.
And what fell out and crashed to the ground was not me. They weren’t my dishes.
They were other people’s dishes.
Put inside we without my permission, when I was too young to know that I could not hold them all.
I opened the door, and I’m still here.
It turns out, I’m not that fragile.
Oh damn it got better
THANK YOU TWO FOR MAKING OUR LIVES A LITTLE BETTER
If you’re ever in this situation like in the picture literally, you can grab a big laundry basket then hold it with one hand while in front of the cupboard. When you open the cupboard, the plates will fall to the laundry basket and should not break.
You can also see it as having a support system. It’s okay to let go of that excess baggage because that person grabbing the basket is willing to help you. You are not alone; you can open that door now.

How can you not include the video?
@lordcephalopod
THEY’RE ROASTING HIM
Nawww, I’m sure the scientists adore this little guy <3
thank you @agentliz
The Ocean created possibly the cutest creature ever
If you listen to the entire video, they definitely make some cooing noises, so I guarantee that the art is accurate if they could actually touch it.
Fucking superb you funky little cuddle fish
Do all sea explorations sound like the scientists are just on discord?
No offense, Americans, but your impeachment process is a fucking joke.
Imagine a trial where half the jury members are the defendant’s friends and co-workers and the other half are the prosecutor’s friends and co-workers, and the verdict is decided based on their vote.
In any normal trial this jury would be disqualified, but in a Senate trial this is the only option. It’s fucking absurd.
Wow thanks! We definitely didn’t know that!
American Government: *engages in steep cronyism and corruption in the course of exploiting American citizens”
Non-American Hot Takers: hey americans…did you know…that corruption…is bad????
Our education system is hot flaming garbage. Our history textbooks are literally political propoganda. Do you wanna know how bad it is? No one taught geography in my grade school. They taught us the states and that’s it, and I went to one of the best public schools in the state. So yea it’s annoying when people make fun of Americans for how shitty our government is, when we’re all grasping for change. But ask yourselves why that change doesn’t move faster?? It’s because half of us don’t even understand there’s a problem.
the cutest thing on earth

What she says: I’m fine
What she means: Edgar Wright (director of Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and Shaun of the Dead) has been signed on to adapt Grasshopper Jungle, a YA sci-fi novel, since 2014. The novel Grasshopper Jungle is about a teenage boy named Austin who lives in a dying Midwest town who accidentally sets off an apocalypse with his best friend. While struggling externally with the threat of the end of the world, he deals internally with conflicting romantic and sexual feelings for his girlfriend Shann and his best friend Robby. The novel deals with themes of societal pressure on teenagers, historical accuracy and the role of historians, taking responsibility for actions and guilt, among other issues. It juggles all these with wit, creative writing style and genuine emotion from 3 dimensional, well rounded characters. These reasons are why I think not only is Grasshopper Jungle deserving of a dutiful and faithful adaption but why I think Edgar Wright is fit to turn this novel into a movie and I sincerely hope we get to see it in the theaters

After being at a month long academic camp for the upcoming seniors in highschool for two days, I can only help but realize a few things.
1. The world is bigger than one person can ever imagine. There is so much for us to experience and live through, pain and happiness, jealousy and compassion. Every single aspect that we overlook everyday is so substantial to our growth as a whole society. If every moment was spent for the betterment of the upcoming generations then so many people would not consider the world as such a bad place to live in. Yes, there is bad. Yes, there is good. How do we exist? Because there is balance and harmony between each. When we experience feeling from some occurrence we can conclude that each feeling is a direct result from the imbalance and harmony of our consciousness at that point in time. Happiness can mean that our consciousness is in harmony with each side, “good and evil”, while when there is imbalance it means that one side is overpowering one another. However, the idea that we can actually experience any of this at all is the point of living.
2. We as individuals know nothing and everything. When we break it down into simple basic building blocks, what you perceive is the actual thought you have which is the reaction/result from someone else’s idea, and makes that thought your thought. Your thought has a certain amount of you in it and a certain amount of what other peoples’ thought about it is. Basically, our own thoughts only have so much of us in it. One single thought cannot exist with one person. It must exist with many. With this, the reason our society can accomplish so much is because our thoughts together make a never ending circle of ideas and growth. I know nothing. Thank the gods.
3. My love for english and philosophy was larger than I even imagined. Nothing brings me more content and joy than conversing with older people, and even some students, about how the world works, deciphering classic literature, and questioning everything we know. Fortunately, I am in the right place with the right people to truly allow myself to grow and blossom with realization and enlightenment of old and new knowledge.
Now, here is a current list of questions I have acquired over my few sunrises and sunsets at this camp:
Is knowledge equivalent to education? If so, can we actually make guidelines to develop it?
Is curriculum equivalent to knowledge of reality?
Do we attempt at making a list of guidelines of knowledge to try to become more knowledgeable?
We need each other as humans to think. So why do we think what we do?
Is it true humans cannot live alone or truly be independent?
Are we just visions of peoples perceptions, thoughts, or ideas?
Is a thought real?
Do ideas control the universe?
What is an idea?
How much power do words have, if any?
Why is it a “train of thought?”
What is art?
What does art do for us as a human race?
Is art the sanctuary of the human condition?
Is the audience just as much of an “artist” as the artist because of feeling that is resulted from the physical piece?
Is putting physical value on art immoral?
Does there have to be beauty in art?
Why is there a search for truth?
What is a dream and why do they occur?
Why are teachers influential?
What do different hand writings tell us about each other, the way we interpret ideas and literature, and society?
(Abt the new header) Thanks! I hate it!
great :)
