@thatenglishmuff
hey ya is an impossibly powerful song
"dni if you engage with irredeemable media! dni to kill a mockingbird stans" ok well CLEARLY you have never read to kill a mockingbird if you think it's irredeemable media and also having a book that was published in 1960 on your dni stan list is kinda ridiculous actually
i literally do not think any of you have ever read a book published before the 2000s before in your entire life
#'Dni if you've read to kill a mockingbird' what's is this the Florida banned books list #Who r u Ron DeSantis
#can somwone pleasw provide context to whatever the fuck op is referring to
You really buried the lede by only mentioning To Kill a Mockingbird
finding out you spent most of your life dissociated is a HUGE bummer

And Flowey secretly loves Clover??? 😏
Um, no? I'm a firm believer in aromantic, loveless(/aplatonic?), no emotional empathy Flowey. Like he cannot love people romantically OR platonically the way other people can. But that doesn't mean he doesn't value other people. He can still enjoy other people's presence, he can care about certain people, he can want people to be vulnerable around, and feel their absence from his life. He can find that he actually doesn't like seeing the people he's close to feeling hurt and it's better when they're happy. (Fuck the people he's not close to though, they can suffer lol).
Y'know, people talk about "oh aromantic people can still date", but 9 times out of 10 that's an excuse to put an aro character into a romantic ship without looking bad, rather than just owning it. Meanwhile I'm like...ok but what would that actually look like? How would someone who doesn't feel love cope with the fact that they can't reciprocate what the other person feels? Would the aro person be comfortable doing "romantic" things like dating, cuddling, kissing? Or would they feel insecure because surely doing these things means they "must" secretly feel love? Would they constantly fear that the other person wants to "fix" them with love? Fear that the other person is secretly expecting that eventually they will feel the same? Would that fear be justified? Something I'd find interesting to explore.
But yeah, Flowey doesn't secretly love them. But he does secretly (even to himself) enjoy being around them and want to be vulnerable with them. And worse yet: he secretly wishes he could love them. Meanwhile, Clover just thinks that he's just tsundere or something LMAO
hello! I would like to know you characterize the heart of gold cowpoke, Clover! especially cuz of the many AUs/iterations you've done like the post-pacifist, post-geno, the one timeline where Clover didn't jump in the mountain, etc et cetera... i also love you sassy they were on Flowey and drowning him so ye I would like to know more :v ialsolikereadingyapssoye
My version of Clover is a combination of characters I like. I see them as a weird kid who's not very good at expressing their emotions because they were never taught how to Their normal nerdy hobbies were never reciprocated, so now they use this cowboy persona, inspired by what they once saw on TV, to seem brave and cool (Kinda like Starlo, but more in trauma-responce way than in loser way)
I think the reason why I like making so many AUs is because, as a kid, I was really into Rick&Morty, Undertale and Meet Bob, and they all have this simillar theme of infinite realities, timelines and clones BTW here's another one I made!!! Startale is my take on Undertale in space, because I always wanted to design something like that
In Japanese, they don’t say “moon,” they say “tsuki,” which literally translates to “moon,” and I think that’s how language works.
Hey its been at least 9 years anything changed?
nope! all quiet on the linguistic front. i am a girl now though
I might be a text to speech software from 2007 because I'm reading about Henry VII and Henry VIII and every time in my head I go "vii :) viii!"... sounds like a vampire on a rollercoaster

i'm in agony, SOMEbody please help me remember what the childhood book series was that centered around critters that looked like this:
IM IN HELL WHAT WAS IT
Little Critter?
THATS THE BITCH
alright smart-aleks, what about THIS one huh?? the dude had a really cool shading technique where he just swirled (colored pencil?) around??
Parts :)
YOU GUYS ARE TOO GOOD AT THIS WHAT THE HELL
ok my partner wanted in on this, I have no idea what this is
I GOT YOU
i'm never leaving this fucking site i stg i love you all.
OK
final one
for all the marbles,
this one doesn't have an illustration bc i think it was just a kids novel but i haven't been able to find ANYTHING about it on my occasional internet queries:
kids is staying with his (grandmother?) in the woods and she warns him not to look a fox in the eyes bc they're tricksy and will swap places with you. obviously that's the first thing the little boy does and gets body snatched by a fox who uhhhh proceeds to pig out with his new little boy human hands and the boy has to trick the fox into looking him in the eyes again to switch back...
thats all i got, it's an older book i wanna say from the 60's?? 70's?? kinda the same jist of "Little Rascal"
perhaps this?
A DECADE OF SEARCHING THANK YOU @dyketennant IM ORDERING THIS IMMEDIATELY
ok i lied i'm back bc this is fun and i get to share some of my most deeply cherished childhood books with you all
i cannot express how much these are from memory, that's how internalized these artists and writers have become, they're a part of me now
The first one looks like The Spider and the Fly, though the poses are a bit different.
The second one is likely Stellaluna.
I’m not sure about the third one, I will keep searching.
I think I found the third one, though I’m the least confident about this one. Is it Creature Tech?
Unfortunately it doesn’t have a praying mantis on the cover :(
idk who needs to hear this but it’s healthier for you to just accept that you’re gonna be kinda fat than it is to live the rest of your life miserably trying to monitor yourself to maintain a skinny weight your body doesn’t want to hold onto
“nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” what feels even better is living a life where your self-worth isn’t entirely dependent on your thinness and you don’t constantly monitor and shame yourself. attaching the tweet that was worth at least five hours of therapy for me
