Deep in the forest, in a dark cave, lived a being. This being was very tall and appeared to be very frail, as if he’d snap like a twig if you even touched him. His skin sat tight against his frame, stretching over his body so much that it looked as if it might rip at any second. His ribs and spine could easily be seen, protruding from his body. In reality, he's much stronger than you’d think possible.
The being snuck through the forest, as quiet as he could with the twigs and dry leaves under his feet. He was hunting, searching for anything he could eat just wanting to fill his empty stomach. As he got closer to the edge of the forest he spotted his prey. The animal was walking towards its little home, carrying its own food. He was quick to act, calling out to lure the animal to him. Soon the animal became curious and moved towards the sound, moving its head around to try and get a look at what was making the noise. It called out to try and get a response. The being stayed low, calling back to the animal, leading to them going further into the tree line. When the animal was close to him and he knew it wouldn’t have the chance to get away, he pounced. The animal let out a scream of shock. The being simply ignored its pleas and dug into the animals stomach just wanting food, but his meal was cut short. Hearing the animals family react to its screams and coming to check on them, the figure quickly kills the animal and picks him up before running back to his cave. Guess this meal will have to wait just a bit longer. He sped through the trees, hearing the feet of the animals running behind him. He made his movement more erratic, twisting and turning in different directions to lose them. He was more accustomed to the forest though and was able to quickly get away without being tracked. He goes further away from his home just to make sure he lost them, not wanting to lead them to his cave. Once he was sure he wouldn’t be found he made his way back home. When he got there he moved to put his prey down on the floor. He started to remove the outer layer of material from the animal by ripping it to shreds in order to prepare his meal. Once the animal was bare he dug into its stomach yet again, this time ripping it open rather then just puncturing it like before, and began eating. He did not care if the meat was cooked as it would not affect him in any way.
Once done with his meal, he tossed the bones outside, into a pile of scraps from the past. All the excess bits of meat and fat, the inedible parts, had rotted away by now. The pile smelled rancid, any normal person would have thrown up due to the disgusting stench, but it did not phase him. He had been surrounded by the scent for so long that it had no effect on him anymore. Looking at the pile he contemplated doing something with it to keep it from luring other animals to his cave and disturbing him. The animals he’d hunt for food don’t tend to come this deep into the forest so he didn’t have to worry too much about them. He mainly just wanted to make sure the smaller animals, the annoying useless ones that didn’t have enough meat on them to sustain his hunger, wouldn't follow the scent. Deciding to get rid of the pile and figure out another way to discard any scraps in the future, the being went to move the scraps before realizing he didn’t really have an efficient way to move them. After some more thinking he decided to go back to the home of the animal he just ate and see if they had anything he could use. He knew they had stuff they used to move things so he just had to make sure not to get caught. He had sat at the edge of the forest and watched them on multiple occasions when out hunting. They were strange to him, oddly familiar as well, they were the only other thing he’d seen around that walked on two feet like him. They seemed to use their arms and hands in a very similar way to him as well. This did not stop him from hunting and eating them though as they were still just food to him. He couldn’t properly communicate with them, just mimic their sound and lure them in, so he had no way of forming an emotional bond with them or a reason to feel remorse.
The being started his journey back to the animals home, keeping an eye out for any of the animals that might be out hunting. Once at the edge of the forest he slowly paced around the small village, scoping out the area to find a safe way in without being caught. He found a small space between two huts that would allow him to sneak in without being seen . He made his way between the two huts and found a small hole in the side of one of them. Peaking through quickly to see if anyone was home he saw that it was empty of people and made his way in ripping the hole a bit more. The being looked around the hut, searching for what he needed. Looking to the corner of the hut he saw large piece of material. He remembers seeing these animals using something similar to this to move stuff so he assumed it would work for what he needed to do. He quickly grabbed the material and went to leave. He froze when he turned around to see one of the animals walking into the hut and seeing him. It screamed in fear before darting back outside. More of them quickly swarmed the screaming one to see what was wrong and saw the being standing frozen in the hut. The being quickly moved forward and jumped over the group before running into the forest with the fabric gripped tightly in his claws. The group sent the males to go after him as they were the largest and fasted. The being struggled to run as fast as he usually did since the material he had kept getting caught on the trees. He tried to wad it up the best he could, but being that his arms were so thin it just slipped away. He had to find some place to hide or else the animals would get him and he’d be dead meat. The animals roared in anger as they ran after him, following him to the best of their capabilities and throwing stones, and anything they could reach, at him to try and get him to stop. He took each hit with gritted teeth, hoping they’d stop soon and leave him be. He wasn’t killing any of them this time, why are they chasing him, he only took the material. The being ran as fast as he could, dodging and weaving between the trees, trying to lose the animals chasing him, the fabric was making things so much harder for him than they needed to be. The bits of material that would get caught on the threes and anything sharp also gave the animals a trail to follow in order to find him. He didn’t feel like killing these animals as he was still full from his previous meal so it'd be a waste of future food. He had to find somewhere to hide and fast.
Looking around frantically as he ran, the being finally saw somewhere he might be able to hide. Gathering the material the best he could into his arms one last time he took a dive and landed in a hole. The hole was hidden under a log and there was just enough space for him to squeeze his thin body in with the material in his hands. He held his breath as the group ran past him, hoping they would lose interest when they couldn’t see him anymore and not try to search for him. Minutes went by as he waited, watching for any movement until he felt he was safe. He slowly crawled out of the hole, dragging the material behind him. Making his way towards the direction of his cave he made sure to be very cautious until he was 100 percent sure he was safe. Then he ran. He ran as fast as he could to his home, just wanting to feel safe again. Once he reached his home he made his way in and collapsed to the floor in exhaustion, the material being thrown aside.
The being soon stood back on his feet and grabbed the material yet again. He made his was back out to the mouth of his cave and layed out the material on the ground next to the pile of scraps. He then moved around it to be closer to the pile and pushed from the top of the pile towards the material causing a large amount of the bones to fall onto it. The being then moved back around to the fabric and and pulled the corners of it together to form a makeshift bag and drags it away from his cave. He decides to mess with the animals again by leaving the scraps near their village. He planned to put them in a random hole and make it hard for them to find. Carefully walking around the village yet again he finds a few decent sized holes and dumps the scraps in one. He then goes back to his cave and repeats the process of getting scraps, pulling them to the holes and dumping them until all the scraps are gone. The being then throws the piece of material, that now smells as rancid as the scraps, into the village before running back home. The being relaxes at home for a while before he gets hit with a sudden hunger. Time to do some more hunting.
