Being asexual and racist is embarassing as fuck. Being racist at all is obviously embarassing as fuck but the amount of racism and especially antiblackness i have been seeing from asexuals recently is obscene.
One of the only asexual activists is Yasmin Benoit, a Black woman. She has raised so much awareness for the community. She was the first asexual person to lead Pride in London, she started the #thisiswhatasexuallookslike movement and is THE leading voice for the community.
And you all will celebrate international asexuality day on April 6th but we wouldn't even have that if she hadn't cofounded it.

DISCLAIMER: SPOILERS. This is just my personal interpretation on the TADC finale from a literary standpoint. Gooseworx may very well have had different intentions. WARNING: Discussion of death, existential crises and suicide. This WILL be depressing.
So as I left the theater for the TADC finale, I heard a teen fan talking about how the circus would "definitely find a way to reverse abstraction".
I didn't want to rain on her parade so I said nothing. But in truth? Even with a gun to their head and forced to continue the show, I don't think Gooseworx would ever even consider reversing abstraction, because it would undermine what the abstraction is supposed to mean.
It's death, plain and simple.
Gooseworx has said that the message to take away from TADC is "that there's purpose to be found in stagnant life."
The point of all of this, I personally believe, is to say that even if there is no great scheme, no God (Caine when he ran to the recycling bin) no heaven or life beyond this world (the IRL world the original humans exist in), if society does not value us and there is truly no "built-in function" we're cosmically meant to fulfill in the universe (the circus), even if we just exist to exist, there is still value in that.
The members of the circus cannot die, have nowhere else to go, no genuine connection to the "IRL" world. The ennui created by this scenario is the only danger they ever face.
There's a reason why abstraction is punctuated with a funeral. To make it clear that this is an end. In a digital world where it is impossible to be killed, this is the only finality.
Yes Pomni went into Jax's "memories" - but he's not a "person" in the literal sense, he's a corrupted file. And I think at that point he was still disappearing into himself.
Additionally, everything about Jax's last moments under the streetlamp - it didn't feel like her trying to save him, it felt like her wanting to save him and failing.
I hoped too, when he turned to light in her arms, that maybe she had *fixed* something and brought him back.
But that was the point of the Ragatha's death scenario in Jax's head. Pomni's phrase "I can fix you" feels so asinine and reminds us how belittling that concept can be.
To me, the dialogue felt like a girl who found her trans friend in the middle of a suicide attempt, and it was too late. "You should have just talked to me," "It's too late," "I don't want to go yet," "Stay with me".
The finality of abstraction is to remind us to value the life we are given and the people around us because this life may be all we get.
Additionally, it further highlights the inversion of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. In the story, only one lived on. In TADC, only one died.
Do any of my other neurodivergent brethren and sistren try to find sites with healthy kid friendly recipes hoping it will cater to your inborn pickiness, only to have 99% of the recipes be for dishes you won't even eat now as an adult?
