wholesome G/t thought: a reverse borrower.

So a borrower that lives in the home of a human and while they do take small things now and then for survival, but they also give things back from time to time, things that most likely wouldn't draw too much attention.

For example:

The borrower sees that the human is sad and crying. Borrower runs back into their little home and takes a tissue pack that they had saved up, making sure to save at least one for themselves. They quietly place it near the human, and race back before they're seen.

And to add some bittersweetness

Human thinks that these little gifts are from another human and thanks them. The “giver” takes the credit for whatever reason.

Borrower is sad that they can’t make themselves known and reveal that it was them who gave them gifts when they were sad, but it’s better this way. At least the receiver is happy. That’s what they wanted;;;

I love this! It reminds me a lot of brownies from Scottish folklore (and the Spiderwick Chronicles)! They’re little household spirits or fairies that help out around the house/farm when nobody is looking. When I was a kid I used to pretend that one lived on top of my kitchen cupboard and left crackers up there for him...
