In the beginning of RotS, Padmé is absolutely glowing and deeply in love. She was thriving and flourishing in her marriage to Anakin—her husband's passionate devotion to her introduced colors of happiness in her life she hadn't known existed. In RotS novel, she thinks about how her life before Anakin belonged to a different person. Her marriage brought out more aspects of her that were genuinely Padmé, and not just amidala.
