Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.

I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.

Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.

when your design for a character fits with the fanon design: hah...yes...great minds think alike and we, indeed, are great minds. the weak have been weeded out and discarded like chaff until all that remains are the brightest. majority rules for a reason, and all must bend before us.

when your design for a character doesn't fit with the fanon design: who shall stand up to the violent oppressors....only i, the underdog....i, the beaten-down...i, the free-thinker. only i may press back against the weak-willed mediocrity of the masses and prove to them their ineptitude.

Introducing: Jaimi Mire, a guitar playing fire-magic OP young adult who’s trying to find her missing mom. Rose Buchanan, her best friend (and sister) and professional yearner. Along with cousins Spencer (a tall trans baker who’s a bit reckless and doesn’t have magic) and Eunha (the chaotic teenager who wants to be included).

They’re going up against magical creatures, a mysterious cult, and also- themselves.

literally this. when i replied to “imagine standing up for men” saying that trans men deserve to be fought for too, i got hit with “nobody says trans men don’t belong in queer spaces” except a lot of queer & feminist spaces, especially online, actively villainize being a man and dump you the second you transition. it’s gross.
