Calling Day || Amity + Clara
Clara just smiled and shrugged not knowing what to say to that because— yes, she did have to bring something with her. She didn’t have the money for anything better but she knew she needed something to make up for the fact that it was her that was showing up at the door, in want of friendship. There had to be something more than just herself that she could offer to people to prove her worth.
Thankfully Amity invited her in and Clara followed. She plopped down in the open bean bag chair, having to awkwardly rearrange herself so she was sitting up instead of sinking back.
She nodded along to the questions even though, as a Muse, weird dreams were just sort of apart of her life. Swynlake ones were different though because they involved more than just her being aware of it.
“Yeah, I don’t really know. It’s weird— but from what I’ve heard from the people who’ve been around the block, it’s the town itself doing it. Maybe someone dropped a Jane Austen novel down the wrong storm drain and it got sucked up or something.” She shrugged. “Did you like how it casted you? I mean, being a Viscountess couldn’t have been completely terrible, right?”
Amity watched as Clara got more comfortable in the bean bag before offering some of the trail mix to her. “You picked a good one, want some?”
She listened intently when Clara started to explain more about the dream situation. Now that was something she hadn’t thought of. The town doing magic itself. Amity had never heard of such a thing occurring in centuries back in America. She had originally thought some sorcerer was messing with with all the townspeople for personal gain, the only question being who. But the town itself... Amity would have to look more into that sometime.
“It was actually nice. I got to be this magick activist that people actually listened to because of my economic status. Living in some mansion, meeting some really good people I haven’t even met yet. The only snag was the big prize in this competition was to get hitched... but I guess that aligned with the timing of the era, unfortunately.” However, she actually didn’t mind at all who she ended up with in the dream. While she didn’t know her personally, Tiana Truitt was a beautiful and hardworking business owner after all.
“Did you like your dream life Clara?”
