ON Hiatus
I am sorry for any inconvienves, but I simply cannot find the energy to keep up with so my blogs and rps as of late. I am dealing with a lot of family issues- my dad was diagnosed with cancer and my mom was recently in the hospital with three leaking heart valves. I really do appreciate every single one of you and I hope to be back soon. Again, you have my apologies.

Christmas Time is Here
Hazel hues widened when she saw a picture of Santa Claus and his flying reindeer flash across the television screen. Little lips curled upwards as her smile lifted her youthful features. A high-pitched screech filled the room before she ran through the house, shouting, "Santa's coming! Santa's coming!"
The child raced up to her toy box and dug through the mountainous pile of stuffed animals before finding what she was looking for. Rikki pulled out a red and white Santa hat and fit it over her honey-golden ringlets. She pranced back downstairs, clambering on to the couch. Her voice was raised as she began to sing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at the top of her lungs, bouncing on the soft cushions as she did so.

"Yeah, well, I wasn’t exactly talking t’you" Dean chuckled
"I don't see anyone else around," she shot back with a rise of her brow, though the corners of her lips twinged upwards

Rikki held up her hands in confusion after setting down her bags by her feet. "I haven't done anything wrong," she replied, her tone heavy with her Danish accent.
"Happy Thanksgiving..."
Oh god damn it. Figures that she would request that of him. Nick could have guessed that was coming in all honesty, but it still took him aback in the slightest.
This is where any normal person would easily agree, tuck the kid in, and sing them some stupid song that they remembered from their childhood. But of course, there lies the problem. Childhood. Or therefore, Nick’s lack of one. He had no recollection of ever being sung to sleep, or even what songs there were to sing. Swallowing uneasily, the conman hesitated, glanced around the apartment as if something there would tell him what to do. Nothing did of course.
Rolling his eyes once again, Nick finally relented, gray hues locked back onto her. “If you quit doing that.” He mentioned, before reluctantly, albeit gently grasping her wrist and pulling it away from her face. “Then yeah, whatever, I’ll sing to you and tuck you in.”
Crossing the room, the gambler approached the side of the bed, and pulled back the covers with his free hand, before sitting on the edge of the bed and placing the child down beside him, tucking the comforter around her. “…What am I supposed to sing about? Ponies and rainbows?” Sarcasm dripped from his words, but she was probably too young to even recognize it.
The child stared up at him as he spoke, her golden locks spilling out around her head like a small halo. Little digits curled into the softness of the comforter that had been tucked around her. She found comfort in the warmth of the bed, out of the cold and out of the dark.
"Sing about unicorns," she giggled. "Or princesses." She turned her head to the side, nestling a rosy cheek into the cool side of the pillow. She could tell he wasn't used to being around kids, but he had taken care of him so far. She found no reason to feel uncomfortable.
However, as she relaxed, the little girl could begin to feel the waves of exhaustion roll over her. She opened her mouth, yawning largely. "I want to grow up and be a princess," she murmured, the innocence of her youth shining through.

Sam had been stuck inside all day long and he knew the strom wasn’t going to stop anytime soon. Sighing he looked at the window, The wind was crazy and pushing tree’s to the side and the smaller ones over. The thunder and lightening cracked in the sky shaking the ground. Closing the curtains Sam looked up at the lights as they flickered and hoped that the power wouldn’t go out. Sam walked over to the couch listening to the voilent storm, Sitting there he crossed his legs and leaned back, He didn’t really care for storms. He wouldn’t tell anyone but he absoultly hated them. Tapping his fingers along his knee he slightly jumped as a huge crack of thunder rumbled through the sky.
”This is wonderful..” Sam said under his breath as he shut his eye’s for a moment trying to block the storm out.
The girl wandered up to the who was somewhat relaxed in his seat. Hazel hues observed him momentarily before she wrapped her arms around her torso in a nervous manner. Lifting one arm, slender digits tucked a lock of honey blonde hair behind her ear.
"Not a fan of storms?" she asked in a soft voice, just barely audible over the sound of the thunder and the rattling of the walls. She sat down on the arm of the couch. The ghost of a smile lifting the corners of her lips as she watched him jump. "I'm not either..."
Honestly the young woman was much more frightened than she was letting on. Not only did she not like storms, but neither did she know where she was, how she got there, or who this man was. She was just surprised that she was not freaking out more.
The last thing she remembered was walking down the state road, carrying her guitar case and suitcase on her back. The next thing she knew, she had woken up in this place. But the thing that had scared her the most was that that she couldn't move anything, fortunately she had mastered how to walk through walls, which is how she had managed to find her way in here. She had wandering for hours and he had been the first person she had come across.

Mary had never thought about what the end of the world would be like. She always assumed she would be dead long before it happened. But life had such a funny way of throwing curveballs at you, didn’t it? It keeps coming at you and coming at you, and it never stops. That’s what her grandfather always said.
Her grandfather, William Overbeck, better known to his friends as Bill. Where was he now? Mary hadn’t seen him for a while, not since they had been ambushed by Infected and he made her run for her life. That was her grandpa, always looking out for her from the day she was born.
Deep inside, Mary wondered if she would ever see him again, or if he was even alive at this point. But whenever those ugly thoughts wormed their way into her mind, she shook her head and tried to push them out again. She couldn’t afford to think like that. She had to stay positive, try to get through this ugly mess that the world had gotten itself into.
Taking a deep breath, she picked up her supplies and moved onward.
Rikki had been walking for hours and the eeriness of the ghostly silence had long passed freaking her out. This had not been the trip she had expecting when she had decided to take a trip back to her homeland. She had had dreams of visiting California and seeing the places where movie stars had filmed, or perhaps taken a trip up to the big apple. Now however, that only was possible if she walked there on foot.
She had seen a few cars lined along the side of the road, but hadn't gotten the courage to steal one yet. She figured that there were likely to be zombies hovering around the area and they were not a force she felt like reckoning with just yet. So instead, she adjusted the shoulder strap of her bag and picked up the case of her acoustic guitar and continued on.
How strange it was. Only a few months ago, a situation like this was mere fiction, contained within the fantasies of movies and comic-books. Yet here she was, walking along the abandoned state roads, heading West with nothing but what she could carry and a sharp eye out for any creatures that might find the scent of her flesh appetizing.
She had seen no one for days and had eventually stolen some water and food from the grocery store. The girl almost felt bad for stealing but knew that circumstances had changed drastically. She was on her own now and had to survive.
However, when hazel hues finally glanced up, she realized there was someone in the distance. Her first thought that it was a something, but no. This one was walking too upright. She quickened her pace, hoping not to frighten whoever it was and perhaps glean some information from them.
"Hello?" she asked in a tentative voice.
