Do you know how hard it is to find a therapist for my henchmen? I can’t send them to a regular therapist, they just try to make them see ‘the error of their ways’. And so far every Evil Therapist I’ve seen has just wanted to psychologically torment them.

Constantine hears a knock on the door of the house of mystery. This is already strange, but made even stranger by the fact that the house isn’t supposed to be in the material plane at the moment.
He cautiously opens the door, expecting some demon, god, or some other dangerous entity, but he instead finds what appears to be a scrawny human teenager begging for help.
Of course appearances can be deceiving so he keeps his guard up, but still he decides to hear the kid out. It’s almost certainly a trick, but on the slim chance this is real he couldn’t just turn the kid away.
Anyway the kid seems to want help getting out of some magical contract or obligation? Something about trial by combat and… “BLOODY HELL Kid is that the ring of Rage?!”
Basically, Danny does not want to become the ghost king, he doesn’t want to lead or deal with any royal pagentry. And after hearing about John, he figures that if there was anyone who could help it would probably be John Constantine. And even if he can’t the Hellblazer is at least a good place to start. (And the Observants absolutely despise the man, which in Danny’s eyes is a glowing recommendation)
"I'll do it mate! Here, let me punch you once and you concede, then you're out. Na! Don't worry, I have a plan... and a plan B."
Hours later both of them covered in sweat.
Constantine: “Ok we’ve tried fisticuffs, fencing, magic duels, we’ve tried adding a witness and a formal declaration” Constantine sighs “Damn realms Magic might only count if we’re actually taking this seriously and I’m not comfortable going all out on a kid” ‘At least when there might be another option’ he adds silently. Constantine has done many things in his life that he isn’t proud of and in his line of work he will almost certainly commit many more. That doesn’t mean he’s gonna seek out those opportunities.
“But-“ Danny starts, but John cuts him off.
“Yeah I know you can take a beating, you would have to in order to claim that thing” he gestures at the ring sitting seemingly innocently on a side table. “But if the ring wants us to mean it then we would have to really mean it. And I don’t know enough about your physiology to know how my more dangerous spells would affect you. I don’t exactly have much experience with Schrodinger’s teenagers.”
Danny again tries to speak up but John continues.
“It’s also possible I might not even be eligible for the title. I’ve cheated death plenty but I’m not technically undead, and even if I was my soul is more likely bound for hell rather than the realms. Different afterlive different rules”
“So that’s it!” Danny says angry
“Hey I said I would help and I will” John says placating the ghost “Truthfully what we’ve been doing so far has been more about me getting a read on the situation rather than finding a solution. Needed to get an idea of the magic” ‘and entities’ “involved before I do anything serious” he pulls out a cigarette “not quite sure what our next step is, but I think I have a few ideas of what to look into.”
John wracked his brain for people he knew who were undead, who would fight the kid or could be tricked into fighting the kid and meaning it, but also who wouldn't be likely to actually kill or even end him.
Deadman wouldn't do it, and even if he would, he'd lose. Grundy? No, no... Batman's crime kid?

Oh no, it might have to be him.
He'd be okay as a leader, at least. Probably. Better than most. He was already a leader of sorts; he had experience, he had ruthlessness. He wouldn't become some puppet king for who-knows-what.
Didn't mean he'd willingly become King of the Dead, but... Best cross that bridge later.
First, how to trick him into fighting this scrawny teenager...
Funny thoughts, but what if they keep trying to hoist the responsibility off onto other people. Only for them to also not want it.
In the end of the solution is something Constantine would’ve never thought of. They need to abolish the monarchy…. The reason he would’ve never thought of it is because he’s British.

I had that thought for a long time. But then last Christmas my wife got me some bracelets, and the moment I put them on I became cool enough to be wearing them, and I also experienced what can only be described as vibe euphoria. Like gender euphoria but for vibes.
I did experience vibe euphoria when I found that ribbed tank top..... and the loose pants that drape over my shoes in that way I like..... not to mention the guitar bag.....

This is completly false. Rabbit shut down because they had no business model, were making no money whatsoever, and went bankrupt. What Rabbit did (host and stream remote-control virtual machines) is not inherently illegal by any means.
Hyperbeam is the exact same thing and I've been using it for years for perfectly legal activities -- you can display maps for d&d games, have youtube watch parties, play tag-team neopets, whatever you like. It has full access to the internet, so could someone do illegal things? Probably. But you could also do illegal things with your normal web browser. Not my problem.
Unlike Rabbit, Hyperbeam has a side-hustle (main-hustle?) offering more advanced virtual machines to businesses and schools, so they do actually make money and should stick around longer.

Still can’t believe the Phandom gaslit ourselves into thinking so much that is headcanon is canon.
Ghost King Danny isn’t a thing, Wes Weston doesn’t exist, Ghost Cores are debatable, Red Huntress isn’t Valerie’s ghost hunter name, Bones is not Youngblood’s parrot’s name. Etc.
It just goes to show how powerful, creative and influential one person’s idea has spread amongst the community, many times, and I love that for us.
Wait, those last two are head canons?!
Also, I wish people remembered that first one was a headcanon more. Don’t get me wrong ghost King Danny stories are great. But there are so many I’m starting to get sick of them. Not every story needs to include ghost king Danny
