No, you see, I wish to be an author. Not in marketing. Or an influencer. I wish to tell my stories, be told I did a fantastic job, and then go back to my hovel to scribble some more. I am delicate of constitution and awkward in crowds.

“those stars are already dead. mere ghost light growing dimmer by the day”
but it’s simon who’s already dead the minute he’s welded into the submarine
it’s ava who’s already dead the minute she decides to go after the black box
it’s the pilot of the SM-8 who’s long gone but who’s voice, who’s ghost is being used to lure others to her fate
it’s almost every character we meet who is dead and gone by the end, who’s been dead the whole time and all we can do is watch their ghost light from afar, replaying their last moments over and over
a game about relationships, joy, and overcoming birthday struggles!
'you are a kākāpō and it is your birthday' is a solo-journaling game about being the world's only flightless parrot, and knowing that anyone else would mess up your birthday party, so you have to throw it yourself!
You'll create your kākāpō character, lay out your forest relationships, and use those relationships to overcome problems that crop up in throwing the best party ever.

Live your kākāpō bday dreams here:
A solo-journaling game where only you can throw the perfect birthday!

Something about the way Ava keeps wiping the blood off of the porthole the first time they bring Simon up. The sub is covered in blood. She is performing a Sisyphean task. She keeps sending people into the blood ocean and they keep dying and she keeps sending people down and they keep dying. This is bigger than us. She cleans the porthole again, and there is no greater purpose because the sub is covered in blood.
Lady Sybil Ramkin sat off to one side, wearing a few acres of black velvet. The Ramkin family jewels glittered in her fingers, neck and in the black curls of today's wig. The total effect was striking, like a globe of the heavens.

"You know what's harder than Getting Better? Living Like That" is just the thesis for my whole shit going on right now honestly. You know what's harder than doing my physical therapy? Hurting All The Time. You know what's harder than addressing my gender dysphoria? Hurting All The Time
I'm Doing The Hard Thing and it's *easier* than how I was living before. If you make yourself feel better you will have more energy to spend on Getting Better. Nice inch nails - the upward spiral. Crawl out of your grave Thursday

The conclusion, and one of the harder hitting parts of the article. Solving poverty does not require complex solutions and long timeframes.
If only there were a system already invented that prioritizes the distribution of resources based on need...
puttering around the house is an underrated form a self-care. make some tea or coffee. put on a podcast. sort the mail. tidy some pillows and fold some blankets. start the laundry. thaw some soup. just casually wander around aimlessly doing little things to make your space and life a little nicer. who cares if you get distracted or only do a little. you aren't being productive. you're puttering.
My life has gotten measurably better since I reframed the period from 3-4 pm as “puttering hour”. No it’s not me avoiding work or failing to force myself to concentrate during my mid afternoon slump. It’s puttering hour.

today's reason I fucking love the open source community: Ageless Linux, a brand new Debian-based operating system specifically designed to break the law by giving children access to computers that explicitly refuse to track their age.

As a queer person online who is not from the dominant cultural powerhouse in the world, the most common phrase I see is "know your queer history". I was always annoyed by this mantra not because I didn't want to take the time to understand the evolution of queerness through time but because that statement was always silently referring to North American queer history.
Australians. We now have an incredible new LGBTIQA+ documentary about queerness in Australia's colonial and Aboriginal history and it's written by gay comedians. Wins all around. If you want to learn about YOUR queer history, the three part documentary Queerstralia is now showing on ABC iView. Go go go!
