Favorite Fruits: Any kind of berry, but strawberries, mostly.

Favorite Season: Spring, because every day it is getting warmer but the bugs aren’t as obnoxious as they will be in summer yet. Also, flowers.

Favorite Book: I’d feel wrong saying anything other than the Lord of the Rings trilogy, as it probably had the greatest impact on me (and I’ve read it far too many times).

Favorite Flower: Probably cherry blossoms, because my hometown has a lot of cherry blossom trees and they remind me of my childhood. Shout-out to rhododendrons, however, because a) they change colour based on the PH value of the soil, and b) they have an interesting history, having been brought over to England from China during a period of English history when the entire countryside was converted into a paradise for pheasants, giving rise to many of the horticultural styles that we today believe are quintessentially English.

Favorite Animal: Domesticated? Cats. Non-domesticated? Don’t really have one, but raccoons and foxes and the like are nifty I suppose.

Coffee, tea, cocoa: I drink all three, but I only get coffee when I go out, because I can’t make it at home. I usually have about 2-3 cups of tea per day, and about one cup of cocoa every two days.

Cat or Dog person: Cat person. I respect dogs, but I could never live with one.

Favorite tumblr: Hmm... well I follow 400ish, so it can be difficult to pick, but I think I’d have to go with mapsontheweb. Plotting information on maps is the essence of comparative politics, and I love it.

Dream Trip: Backpacking Europe with a couple of friends is something that I’ve always wanted to do. I’d also like to one day drive across my own country, if only to fully appreciate its enormity.

People ask “why so many females” because of historical context. In the case of the most recent asker, he was questioning it because 99% of pirates historically were male. This also applies to knights, soldiers, or pretty much anyone involved in combat. Thus a 50/50 split is unrealistic historically, and in militaries even today, and raises questions.

Magic is a fantasy game. We build our planes to be cool and evocative and inspirational. We want to make them worlds people are excited to explore and play with.

Ixalan has spellcasting Merfolk, conquistador Vampires and Warriors riding Dinosaurs. Historical accuracy was never our goal. : )
