The Heart Pt. I & II
Shh, stillness now through’t the house
pitter patter, paws know better than to make a sound.
down tempo, slow.
a window drips while widow sips her coffee by the door.
fly nearby knows to hide his journey to the floor
sighing softly dishes washing this house was once a home.
the spark inside - remnant of an older time- had once been ablaze
but still some love remained.
--
spin, reality react violently to advances on your soul
guide along with happy song the old smile you once wore.
take my hand and hold me tight
as many times you'd done before but I less wise had remembered few and over the years fogotten more.
I started slowly not heeding warning not hurried to the station too late realizing you'd soon be gone.
It was a Thursday, sunset dawn,
I missed the train
yet still some love remains.
