As a Japanese person, I want to see more non-western dark academia stuff, so here’s what I can think of for Japanese DA
• calligraphy
• hands covered in ink that you used to paint or write with
• kabuki and traditional theatre
• the pavement and narrow streets of old cities
• temples
• in certain areas of the country, huge deciduous forests!!
• kimonos and yukatas
• haiku poems
