So, this Tim did suffer the J.J incident, a few months to a year after he became Robin. Kidnapped, altered, brainwashed, nearly killed Bruce, the whole shebang. And joker was dead, very dead; That's why Bruce didn't kill the joker. Tim did.

But in this canon, the joker is very much far from human, and death doesn't stop him. He keeps coming back and nobody understands how. So joker is very much alive and a threat in this canon; Do with that what you will.

Nobody knows about the J.J incident but Bruce and Babs, who rescued him. Tim recovered entirely because they helped him and they covered it all up without a trace because Tim asked.

I would like to clarify that Tim and J.J in this canon are not two separate people but more a major shift of mindset between them. Tim can still rarely slip into the mindset of J.J, so do with that what you will. When I'm writing him in the mindset of J.J I'll be talking in green.

I headcanon that Martha was actually a majorette/color guard when she was alive — as a girl, she was the darling of many of Gotham's parades, and she'd keep up with it even well into her middle age.

Basically, she's good with a staff/lance for artistic reasons

One day, for some odd reason or another, Tim finds old recordings of Martha being part of a color guard, and copies what is apparently a signature maneuver for her. He spends weeks perfecting the move, appropriating it for maneuver

He excitedly gets Bruce down to see because "BRUCE! BATMAN! WATCH ME! WATCH ME!" and Tim does it. It's clumsy and an obviously modified technique

Bruce immediately recognizes it

And that's the first time Bruce actually smiles brightly in months
