i've been phasing the phrase 'google it' out of my vocabulary and going back to 'look it up'. fuck you youve lost your generic trademark privileges
I'm open for private commissions again! If you're interested just email me at [email protected] or fill out this google form letting me know what you want and I'll get back to you with a quote. Prices vary depending on the complexity of the work, but generally starting from £90+ for simple character illustrations without backgrounds, and from £250+ for full illustrations.
Please note these are private commissions, so not for commercial use.
Have some extra expenses coming up this and next month so opening up for sketch commissions as well! £40 for a full body black and white character sketch, same email/google form as above.
Just a note that my commissions are still open, but I won't be available until July. Please feel free to contact me in the meantime though, and I can slot you into my schedule after June. <3

Solidarity between LGBTQ+ people and unions has saved an event denied ‘a single penny’ of council money
"What’s the point of supporting gay rights but nobody else’s rights. You know? Or - workers’ rights but not Women’s rights - it’s - I don’t know - illogical."
"There’s a lodge banner down in the welfare. We bring it out for special occasions. It’s a hundred years old. I’ll show it to you one day. It’s a symbol like this -
Two hands.
That’s what the labour movement means. Should mean. You support me and I support you. Whoever you are. Wherever you come from. Shoulder to shoulder. Hand to hand."
How reading Jilly Cooper's classic Eighties sex book made me realise that there is no such thing as being too good to read about a bit of do
It’s Tony versus Declan versus Cameron versus Rupert, all of these vibrant, vitriolic personalities clashing against each other in varying combinations from start to finish. You can get towards the final hundred or so pages and have entirely forgotten that three hundred pages earlier, Tony and Cameron were solid partners in crime scheming to take out Declan and Rupert, because the latter trio have by now been working against Tony together for one hundred pages, and the switch feels completely natural to their personalities and the circumstances Cooper has built up around them.
Everything, no matter how shocking in the moment, is perfectly built up to and accounted for.
No amount of alliance-switching can interrupt the natural flow and dynamics. They’re all so perfectly poised to be against each other one moment then working in lock-step the next. That is so difficult to pull off. To get even two characters reacting off each other with the right chemistry is tricky; to do it with multiple characters in ever-shifting dynamics that all make sense, all the time, even more so.

Wild that folks keep saying beekeepers abuse bees as if bees are not both venomous flying animals and fully unionized
Hubris to think you COULD abuse bees
I think that if you see a balrog in an unlocked kitty kennel then you can assume that it wants to be there
Actually, beekeepers take many precautions to keep their bees from leaving.
many clip the wings of the queen, destroy new queen cells, cull queens they don't like and use bee pheromones to prevent a hive from naturally swarming or absconding. They also try and prevent mating with the African honey bee, which makes them less docile among other things. During artificial insemination of queens, drones are crushed and „spare“ queens are killed.
and commercial beekeepers even cull their hives during winter, or when they are not producing well.
Coupled with the fact that there is evidence that insects do feel pain, this is not great.
(Not to mention that honeybees are an invasive species in most places, competing with native pollinators and spreading disease)
It is so fucking bold of you to link the exact same paywalled book thirteen times in your reblog to throw people off the fact that you're using one source from 1859.
I don't think there's ever been a funnier vegan response in the history of this hell site. This is actual gold. If you cited an argument like this in a first year undergrad intro to bio module, then your lecturer would be legally entitled to fire you out of a cannon. I think I'm dying

If I were a murderer, and I'd meticulously planned a murder, and then I turned up at the place to do the murder and found that world-famous-murder-solver Hercule Poirot was also there, I would simply not do the murder.
Wrote a new piece on Substack about Rivals!
The scene where Tony is described as punching fairies from a Midsummer Night’s Dream out of his way made me howl.
And that is not easy to do. I know because I’ve tried. In a couple of examples of my written work shared online, I’ve written a character or hit a run of form that has produced work readers assured me made them laugh, but this isn’t my natural state of being with writing. It’s difficult. And I’ve read so many books, by writers who I know would consider themselves above the smut books of Jilly Cooper or her contemporaries, who could not be this naturally funny in a month of Sundays.
i keep getting this instagram ad for what i assume is a romantasy novel that begins w the phrase “imagine knowing your destiny in life…is to die” n it’s pissing me off SO BAD. everyone’s destiny in life is to die. that’s like. kind of the main one.
it's tempting to just dismiss heath ledger's joker on account of how it altered society for the worse and inspired a generation of men who in the absolute best case scenario are only so annoying you'd rather eat your own ears than spend even a minute around them but then you sit down and actually watch the dark knight again and fuckkkkkk...he actually kinda crushed that shit like a hydraulic press
waaaay back when I was a cashier in retail we would talk about dumb shit while unloading the truck, and we got to the "what would you do in a zombie apocalypse" me and another worker were like yeah we would just die. End it all, we can't fight or run or shit. I refuse to put that much effort into survival.
And my manager was like no!!!! If that happened, I would drive to find you guys in my truck and we could eat stuff from my wife's garden and I would make sure everyone I know survived!! I would carry you all on my shoulders away from the zombies!!
Anyway, random shout out to that guy. You were too kind for retail management, Devin.
also afterwards everyone who was talking about their cool bunker fantasies were like "Damn, Devin's right, we should also be considering helping people around us." which is the only recorded instance of a retail shift making people better human beings.
