With three movies to compare between, I really appreciate how each Knives Out movie explores justice from a different thematic angle, not based on the murder that was committed but based on the cruelty that led to that murder.
In Knives Out, a compassionate, ethical young woman treats everyone around her with generosity, and the people around her repeatedly try to take advantage of her kindness to force her into losing the fortune that was gifted to her by a dear friend. There, justice means that she keeps the fortune and decides that actually, she doesn't have to be kind and giving to people who've proven themselves assholes.
In Glass Onion, a woman loses her sister to a gang of wealthy, successful people who've sacrificed their principles for the sake of ambition and ego. There, justice means that everyone involved will be made notorious: whatever their other accomplishments, they will forever be known for being complicit in the burning of the most famous painting in history.
In Wake Up Dead Man, the church takes advantage of a young girl's loyalty and faith to place her under a lifelong burden and fill her with guilt, shame, and hatred. Justice means helping her understand what was done to her and the women around her, and giving her compassion so she can find peace.
This is cool because it means the movies contradict each other! The compassionate justice of Wake Up Dead Man would be totally misplaced in Knives Out, and so would the toppling-monuments justice of Glass Onion. And because each movie has something different to say, they all stand on their own and feel fresh.
This is also why Benoit Blanc is the uniting figure but never the protagonist of these movies. He's an agent of legal justice in that he's the detective and it's his job to figure out whodunnit, but the protagonist -- Marta, Helen, and now Jud -- is always the character who delivers thematic justice.
Superman in the new movie hating social media is so funny to me so I did these terminally offline Clark (ft Supergirl)
not to be a demon apologist and excuse the whole soul-eating thing but it was honestly so cute and sweet when the saja boys got the hometown hero treatment from the rest of the demons, they were SO proud of them like when someone from a tiny town becomes famous and then the entire town comes out to celebrate them when they come home
also very funny to me that celine and the huntrix girls spent most of the movie saying DEMONS ARE EVIL AND MUST BE DESTROYED and then the demons in question were just having a concert in the underworld and listening to soda pop on repeat and waving light sticks
KPOP DEMON HUNTERS (2025) dr. Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans
wow the drama really said soulmatism is not only being in similar pains and struggles but being with the one who gets each other through the struggles i wept through ro sa saying all the affection snd good things of the world contained in sang wol is wrapped up in her name, that by living together in her name they get exist together beyond her death

it's funny that we were all so worried about viktor's villain arc and then jayce was like L + ratio + here's my unconditional love and forgiveness + i always thought your imperfections were beautiful + nothing about you is broken to me + in every universe i will find you and save you from your loneliness + none of this is worth it if you arent by my side. and viktor folded IMMEDIATELY
"In all timelines, in all possibilities, only you can show me this"
jayce’s final conversation with viktor was sooooo. It was never about this grandeur or “glorious evolution” it was always about that boy in the undercity, playing with his boat and having to look up at the other kids. It was always about the kid with the bad leg wanting to play with everyone else. So he tried to change himself, make himself perfect—but the burden of change was never supposed to be his. He shouldn’t have to be perfect in order to be loved. And Jayce saw this, told Viktor, “you were never broken.” And Viktor, now a twisted, gnarled thing, warped in his pursuit of perfect, looks across his sea of failure and asks, “why do you persist?” Because he’s not perfect now: he’s grey and damaged and evil, right? But the answer is so obvious. It was never about Viktor being broken, or perfect, or a so-called Herald to Jayce. As long as Viktor is Viktor, Jayce won’t leave. Because he promised. He promised.
they didn't kiss but their destinies are intertwined forever. they didn't kiss but in every universe they find each other and only jayce can make viktor understand his faults. they didnt kiss but jayce doomed viktor to his fate as the machine herald and then saved him. they didn't kiss but their love literally saved the world
Aite I'm shelving the depressing jayvik fanfic I was brewing because I need to see them BE HAPPY because that ending was a artistic masterpiece (because um hello the power of gays who call themselves work buddies) but it gave no closure.
“In all timelines, in all possibilities, only you can show me this”
I can’t believe VikJayce/JayVik are the “I’ll find you in every timeline ship”
