I think the biggest plot twist for me was probably the contents of the vault of souls! The Brom one was huge, but forseeable in hindsight. The vault of souls had me shook.

On the post about Eragon's fate, I don't think that it necessarily means that when he leaves Alagaesia for the first time he will never return. It bothered me for a while, that implication, because it seemed so out of character. But so much is unexplained in this series, so much is left up to the reader to guess. The interpretation that makes the most sense to me is the idea that Eragon won't die in Alagaesia. So one day, he'll leave, and be buried where the riders live far away, never to return
That's a different perspective, I actually didn't like the idea of it's end been told in the beginning. I honestly thought that he would "draw" his on destiny. But that's the only end that we got so...
